Foxes have ventured in and out of Ridgefield County for years, but with insufficient numbers to form a permanent group—until now. Spearheaded by Waylin, Shade Valley is more than just a refuge; it’s a stopover, a home, and a second chance for those who need it.

Waylin's leadership is built on communication and negotiation, knowing well that many of those who seek shelter here are underdogs in a world of larger predators. He fiercely protects the smaller weres and always takes the time to show newcomers the ropes. Everybody has a story to tell, and Waylin believes that everyone deserves a place to belong. While the skulk is the heart of this found family, you don’t have to be a fox to be adopted—just respect the peace or else sanctuary is forfeited.

The group is headquartered in the woods south of Valencia, where a wooden cabin can be found near a lake. While this may look like a home, it is in fact a haven for foxes, as well as any small were who needs to get back on their feet (or paws!). Or, if you just need a break from the city, the owner doesn't mind loiters outside just don't leave a mess.
