Valencia POV: you are having a good time

She left Jordan and went back out into the crowd.

Prepared to meet more new faces! Maybe Misaki who Kidd had mentioned? Or anybody, really! Could be Bobby too...

Yet she thought she spotted some free and alone! Which was her favorite time to socially pounce.

"Hey!" She offered bright and warm. "Rosemarie, right?" Who had brought wine!

Rosemarie was drinking a beer, which was not her favourite thing to drink but she'd grabbed one when she couldn't immediately find a corkscrew. She assumed their host had one somewhere but she just didn't see it. So, beer it was!

She was feeling awfully old at this party, no matter how nice everyone was. She was still twice the age of most of them. But, she was trying, and when she found herself alone, Rose took a sip of beer, eyes widening a little as Fawn approached.

She sat the beer down and smiled.

"Yes. Thank you for having me, Fawn." Though maybe it was Grace's doing. She'd have to find the other woman soon and see how she was.

"Are you having a good time?" Rosemarie asked, trying to make small talk. She sort of wished Richard and Ted were here. Oh well!

"Of course," A little grin. Grace really should have been thanked, but Fawn was happy to pass it along. Also it felt nice to soak in the soft thanks she got here and there!

"I am! Although I am more concerned with if you're having a good time...?" Her grin became a bit wider and warmer.

Rosemarie may have wished there was someone else sporting a little grey hair or two, but she supposed she was doing well regardless. Having a good enough time to smile warmly back at her host.

"Of course! It's my first psychic-only party."

She smirked a little.

Oh!

Good! This was the kind of experience she had wanted to cultivate! Fresh faces, less connected and in need of some gentle boosting.

"Well, it's my first one too! And my first time hosting — so I'm open to critiques." She laughed warm and bright.

"Would you like to share powers?"

The last thing Rosemarie would do would be to offer criticism about a party she was kindly invited to, but she nodded with a smile regardless.

At the question, Rose laughed a little.

"I would if I could. I am still figuring out what mine is."

She tried not to look annoyed with herself.

"Oh!"

This was perhaps the most interesting answer so far. Only because it had no answer. The options were endless!

"Well...do you know when it happened or what happens? I do, um, illusions but I don't reeeaallly know how it all works."

Illusions sounded pretty cool, even if Fawn was still figuring it all out.

"That sounds interesting though," She offered with a smile before shaking her head.

"Not unless you count magical panic attacks as a power?" She snorted and rolled her eyes.

A little self-deprecation humor never hurt anyone. Not in Fawn's eyes, at least.

"They could be!" She laughed softly. "Is that when it happened then? A panic attack? Totally don't have to share, though!"

Rosemarie waved a hand. She was typically quite open about things in her life.

"It's alright. I brought it up," She reminded Fawn kindly. "But yeah, it just happened and voilà. Psychic!"

"It has a way of happening at the worst moments, doesn't it?"

She snorted warmly. Maybe not to everybody, but she felt like they could understand.

"I was on a date —" It had been a date, right? Probably seeing as where she stood with Jordan now. "Suddenly making a picture move around and then, boom! Blind with the worst headache of my life."

"Oh, that’s absolutely miserable!" Imagine being on a date and turning into a psychic! No thank you! Rosemarie laughed sympathetically, and shook her head.

"What awful timing."

"Right?!"

Barked a bit with laughter. How mortified she had been then and how mortified she still was every time it happened. Yet she was still all grins now as she rolled into another question.

"Mind me asking how you know Grace? It's like she knows everyone."

Yeah. Grace did seem to know everyone but how Rose and Grace met was an exciting story.

"Well. I found her online shortly after a wereraccoon had bitten me. Grace and her pact saved me sprouting fur the next full moon."

Rose laughed a little and took a sip of her drink.

"An-and then you became a psychic?!"

Maybe she jumped ahead in the story, but she was literally brain melted by this.

Rosemarie nodded.

"Yup!"

A little pop on the 'P' sound at the end.

"I wouldn't be at this party without Grace and her crew."

Felt weird saying 'crew'. Made her feel old.

"Okay wait —"

She nearly laughed for all the disbelief she felt right now.

"Did them stopping the wereraccoon stuff make you psychic? Or was that before or after?"

"Oh!" Rose laughed and shrugged her shoulders. "It was after. But fuck if I know if that made me psychic."

Could have been the plan from the start had she not been bit.

"Ha!"

She snorted with laughter sharp but warm.

"You find anyone to try and figure out your power stuff with? Shit's hard but maybe someone can like...coax it out."

The laughter was warmly received by Rosemarie who finished off her drink and nodded.

"I have a few people I can reach out to." Grace being one of them.

"How about you?" Enough about Rose!

"I'm still like...treading waters into the community and learning more."

Buuut!

"However I knew Grace like...forever ago. Before psychic shit. She saved me from probably getting like secretly lizard-turned with her info."

Rosemarie raised both eyebrows!

"From secretly getting lizard-turned? Like... werelizard-turned?"

What!

"You aren't ready for this,"

A dramatic pause and shake of her head.

"A were-komodo dragon."

What.

The.

"Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck," Rosemarie replied, eyes wide as she considered what a fucking komodo dragon were beast would look like.

"How???" Beat. "Like how is that even possible?!"

"It fucking beats me!"

Her hands came up in defensive before they dropped down with her laughter.

"Makes you wonder though, right? Like what all is out there if literal dinosaurs are an option?"

Rosemarie shook her head in disbelief.

"That's insane. Like. Absolutely crazy."

A were-komodo dragon! How was that fair for anyone?!
