Opal Wash Glow Hearts

As suggested by Evelina and mentioned by Tikanni, they were here! He’d gotten them tickets to an indoor outdoor arcade place with go-karts, glow and the dark mini golf, and laser tag. Tikanni had gone himself a few times, but nothing beat actually having a great time with someone you knew! He hadn’t gotten any of his human friends to do so just yet so Evelina would be the first person and really that made it even more special!

Having picked Evelina up, they’d just parked as he held the door open for her. ”Ya ready to have a radical time?”

Fit

Evelina had never been to a place like this, perhaps some place similar some time ago, but certainly not quite as grand as the place she was now entering with Kanni. There were so many lights, sounds, and smells, it could have easily been overwhelming if she had not been as well adjusted to vampiric life as she was now.

As it were, she could thoroughly enjoy this outing, eyes wide as she took in everything. Kanni was speaking, and it took her a moment to register his words, smile wide as she nodded.

”Yes,” a very radical time! ”What were you thinking to do first?” Honestly it was a shame she could not multiply and do them all at once.
#3
As he followed her inside, Tikanni watched her face with excitement as she took the whole place in from where they stood. It seemed like she liked it!

”Go-karts or glow in the dark put-put, but what’re you feelin’?” There was a lot here!
#4
There was a reason that Evelina had worn her pretty overalls today instead of a pretty dress, and it was specifically for the first of the two options given.

”Go Karts,” she grinned squeezing herself closer to Kanni. ”I have never driven before though, so beware if you are driving in front of me.”

Aka it was best to just let her win!
#5
Go Karts! Yes! He lifted onto his toes in excitement before lowering with realizing Evelina was getting close.

”Don’t worry, you got this. It’ll feel like Super Mario Kart in no time.” And she was already dressed for the part! He squeezed her hand, walking them through the front where tickets were turned in at the check in counter for the whole place.
#6
Evelina had never even played Super Mario Kart, but she knew what it was, and while there would be no banana peels or turtle shells, she had no doubt that the two things would be very similar.

"How often have you driven them?" She questioned lightly as they made their way towards the karts. "Are you considered an expert yet?"
#7
”Wowza, def not,” he reassured and clarified. Tikanni was honestly a bit flattered that she would think so.

”I only get to try ‘em out when I go to places like this. I don’t hit the walls usually if that counts.” Wouldn’t it be cool to be an expert though? If only it was more accessible.
#8
"Oh that definitely counts." She assured with a definite nod of her head. "I fear I will be running into every wall." But maybe not, she had watched others drive so much, perhaps she would turn out to be an expert herself!

Doubtful.
#9
Oh, well then he was the best expert that experted.

”And learning each time,” he assuaged, continuing to walk towards the track. ”You can back up in ‘em, too, easy like.”
#10
Oh this was a handy feature, it certainly saved her the embarrassment of a worker coming down to drag her back from against a wall.

”Wonderful news,” she hummed, pulling the door open that would lead towards the sign up desk, helmets and lockers. ”Maybe if I come here enough I can get a license finally.” No need for actual road practice when you had a track.
#11
It was!

The comment had him look towards Evelina with a lightly puzzled expression. Had she told him that before? Yes????? But! He could see her point.

”Oh, it might help you get used to things.” Maybe. At least, to desensitize her to things while also getting Evelina used to key car stuff like the gas pedal.

Sign in desk here they came. He offered a pen and paper to her for the waiver.
#12
She imagined so, taking the paper as it was offered and quickly signing her name towards the bottom. Did not have much to worry about when she had both speed and strength on her side.

Made it much harder for her to get hurt, and offered a lot less worry.

Handed the waiver back towards the front and got her band of approval wrapped around her arm, and happily gave her wrist a little wiggle as she held for Kanni to finish his own.

Wandered their way back towards the helmets, taking the offered hair band to tie her hair back into a low pony. ”Did we want to make a bet, or do this for fun only?” She did not mind either option.
#13
Filling out his own, things would be turned in soon enough and he’d join her in the band club. All official and stuff, he’d walk with her to the helmets.

Grabbing one his size, he grinned over towards her. ”Sure! I bettttt, you’ll win.” And onto his head the helmet would go with a thunk, hands pulling it down from the eye opening.
#14
Kanni, this was []inot[/i] what she meant!

Though she would smile all the same as she reached for her own helmet, ”then I will just bet that you will.” She decided, which put them at quite the stand still, because then it was a battle of losing, was it not?

”Either way one of us wins in some way or another.” A tap against his helmet before taking his hand to lead them both towards the back room of Karts.
#15
A laugh escaped him at her response, mouth covered by the helmet, but his eyes dancing in mirth. ”I guess.”

Hand grabbed, he folded his in hers with a squeeze, arms swinging, looking at her with excitement and appreciation. She was really cute and the instructor demanded their attention so he looked over as the safety rules and basic controls were given.
#16
So many rules, but Evelina would listen to them well. These were not bumping carts, if you were slow get to the side, this pedal had you go while the other had you break.

All basic things. Easy to understand.

After everything was said and done they would be each given a number for their Karts. Another squeeze to Kanni’s hand before she was forced to release him. :(

”Good luck.” A smile and an encouraging wave as she was directed towards her Kart.
#17
Even if they were familiar, Tikanni nodded along, making sure not to miss any syllable being uttered. Rules were important to be followed when it came to stuff like this.

He squeezed back Evelina’s hand, meeting her smile with his own. ”You, too!” A double tap on her helmet before off they’d go.

Moving off to his own kart, he strapped himself in as best as possible before the attendant came to double checked. As they waited, he looked towards where Evelina had ended up, his whole insides squeezing with anticipation and excitement.
#18
Strapping herself into her kart, Evelina would watch as Kanni was directed towards a kart not too terribly far away, offered him a thumbs up to let him know that she saw him just as a mans voice pulled over the intercom. A retelling of their more important rules before all the karts rumbled to life.

A widening of eyes as her hands clenched around the wheel, her own insides squeezing in anticipation and only tightening further as the countdown began.

3…2…1…GO!

And her foot was slamming onto the pedal, kart jolting forward as Evelina slammed back into the seat, scared her enough that she would immediately lift her foot off in response.

Watched as all the other karts got their head start. Told herself that she had meant to do this, because… She had vampiric power or something gave her a clear advantage.
#19
Thumbs up from her met reciprocating ones of his own with a smile she wouldn’t be able to see.

And then it was down to the countdown, engines puttering in weight, anticipation thick int he air.

GO!

Foot slamming on the pedal just a second too soon had the engine grinding against itself and he nudged forward just a few inches. Blinking in surprise and then confusion and then grief, and all stages of AHHH, an attendant can swooping in to quickly restart him.

1d5= 5 :[

#20
Kanni was forced into assistance and so Evelina would take that chance to pass him, feet finally figuring out the pedals as her kart jerked forward once more. Did not allow herself to get scared a second time as she sailed forward. A glance spared for Kanni for the second that she had in front of him.

At least she could say that she wasn’t in last place for very long!

We made it to 4!

#21
He didn’t miss the streak of red hair as Evelina was up, up and away, leaving hims stranded and wanting on staff.

One, two, three pulls and the engine turned back over. With some shouts of instruction, he puttered off and then jammed his foot down for the gas. Even with the slow start, he had to catch up!

1d5=4

#22
She kept her foot mashed tight on the gas, vampire strength thankfully making the turning a little easier, though the kart was certainly swinging hard as she made her way around each of the corners. Current second and third were tight together, and so it would be a quick usurping as she pulled in front of each of them.

From fourth to second, not a bad thing at all!

1d5 2 >:3

#23
Zooming around turns, a grin grew itself on his face, leaning into the sheer thrill of it all. Inertia had him laughing now and again as his stomach swooped, body moving to the sides of his seats upon turns that had tires jumping.

He could see a banner of red ahead, but just could not shake number three to get any closer.

1d5=4 lol

#24
It is okay because number three apparently was on a mission and they would be surpassing Evelina who gasped out in open surprise.

Excuse you! She was aiming for first here!!

Stuck in third now, she could feel the presence of Kanni behind her, and if her eyes were not forced to pay attention to the track. She might have smiled back towards him. Instead, she offered a backwards wave.

third!

#25
In front of him Evelina was doing her best, but was soon right in front of him, a wave having him laugh, grinning brightly.

Pushing his foot ever further, he whipped around a sudden turn and managed to zoom past her with an apologetic sorry sounding shout before moving right up behind number one.

#26
And then he was in front of her!!

And then there was another person passing her, and Evelina could not help but wonder if waving had messed something up with aerodynamics.

Pushed her foot tighter against the gas to at least save herself from last place.

For the life of him, Tikanni could not get past the first place person. They were really making it hard between speed, the curves, and cutting him off so passing couldn’t happen. Wasn’t that, like, illegal?

#28
Oh no.

She was pushing against the gas maybe a little too hard, and maybe she was cheating just a little bit as she pushed for the wind to boost her even further and fling around those corners.

She was bullet, and if it weren’t for vampiric eyesight, she might have been freaking out just a little.

First place was too busy blocking Kanni that they did not notice the flash of red that was Evelina as she zoomed past them both. 0:)
