Waylin chose an approximately equal-distance city for both Henry and Malaya. He briefly considered meeting at the cabin, but wanted something more neutral. He needed to focus on this conversation, and if they held it in Valencia, he feared he might end up feeling their emotions.

He had to be unbiased and open-minded for both parties because it was the least he could offer them. There would be no direct statement, even with a week to process his thoughts. This wasn’t a decision to be taken lightly, but he knew it would affect the group based on what happened today.

So, he had bid Loki temporary goodbye to go and do whatever his feet carried him to, leaving this fox to wait alone.

The place for the meetup was a little shop specializing in crepes and boba tea—something different yet still comforting, or so he hoped. He had picked a shaded table out in front, perched in a chair with his back resting against the front of the small business as he waited for those he still deemed family. Would they think of him still in the same light?

Would—

The cross in their shared mindscape gave off happy little barks and wiggles with silver eyes casting from his phone toward the familiar face.

”Hey!”

Henry had a feeling that there would be another meeting in their future, and he was happy that it had come sooner rather than later. There were still a lot of feelings after his talk with Malaya, and he’d done a lot of thinking, but talking with Waylin was sure to solidify some things.

Still felt a little weird after their last talk, but meeting away from the cabin would help some of that. Hopefully.

Would at least make him feel a little better about the whole ‘feeling feelings’ thing.

Was making his way towards the familiar cafe (loved their Taro Boba here) and immediately caught both sight and scent of the familiar fox.

”Hey Waylin!” He returned smile bright despite the churning of his gut. ”Waiting long?” Jogged to close the distance between them both as Fenry offered a sharp yip of greeting.

Malaya was apprehensive about this meeting. She loved both of them but she was fairly certain she knew where she was at personally with the last few weeks. It felt... bad. But Waylin wanted to meet them both and she tried to remain levelheaded about it all.

So, she found parking and made her way toward the shop, noticing Henry and Waylin immediately outside. Malaya waved and offered a small smile.

"Hiiii," She said as she approached, the fox nervous too. It was good to see them both, despite everything.

One sharp yip of a greeting would endorse another excited bark as Henry closed the distance between them.

Waylin was on his feet, smiling steadily at the familiar face, and he’d give a brief (but gentle) headbutt. It was essential to show that things wouldn’t change between them, no matter what, and knowing not to overwhelm the younger with a hug.

If it was wanted/needed, he’d let Henry initiate it, so small bumps of touch would be used until then. Those little motions still worked and helped his own nerves.

”Not too long,” he answered as he took a step back just in time to catch Malaya’s arrival. There would be a returned wave as he turned toward her next. Hug for her? Maybe? ”Hey, Malaya!”
