Power/Animal Description EMPATHY – He can’t remember a time where he wasn’t prone to nosebleeds after walking into a crowded room. He’s lived with it since early adulthood and through the toughest time of his life, so he’s used to it and deals with it. At this point he’s incredibly sensitive to shifts in mood, but manages to keep back the worst of the side-effects even in crowds unless the emotions are particularly powerful. These side-effects are usually nosebleeds or persistent headaches. If it's really bad he'll feel dizzy and close to fainting, but he's learnt the hard way to get away before that happens. If he focuses on one individual or when he tries using this ability to manipulate someone's emotions, his eyes turn a deep green.

PSYCHOMETRY – This addition to his repertoire is an annoying and unpredictable one. If he isn’t careful he’s hit by unwelcome residual thoughts and feelings, but he’s made a conscious choice of training himself up to use it for more practical means, like tracking people, rather than just giving himself headaches, mood-swings, and nosebleeds. He can now get some specifics around the item, but there's still a bit of interpretation going on on his side.

PYROKINESIS – The newest and most unpredictable of his abilities, Theo is still learning to use it. It manifests itself with a warmth in his chest and in his palms, a pre-warning system or a manner of 'priming.' It's sensitive to his emotions, namely when he's angry, which is frankly quite a lot. He's still finding out the full extent of the side-effects, but it seems to echo the headaches and the nosebleeds so far.

AURA SENSING – Through exposure, Theo has developed the ability to sense the auras of those around him, able to identify those who are not human. It kicks in involuntarily at this point, his eyes flaring green and an ache radiating from the back of his head. It fades quickly, but he knows what it means.

- Theo keeps it simple. When on the job he’s usually in nice-but-practical clothing, henleys, nice trousers, clean jackets, but he'll dress up in the few suits he has if he needs to impress anyone.

- On days-off he’s most often in some worn pair of jeans with various button up and t-shirt combos. He’s probably too fond of plaid. When he’s keeping up with his training regimen he’s found in sweats and tank tops.

- If he’s going to be on his bike he’s usually in heavy jeans and a heavy leather jacket and the necessary protective gear.

- He has a concealed carry permit so he’s usually always wearing his shoulder holster under his jackets.

- He keeps his hair in a short low-effort style, lucky enough that he doesn’t need to do much for it to look well-groomed so long as he keeps it short enough. He always shaves.

History

- Grew up in Riseley outside of Reading, England. His parents were working class and keen to see him out there and making a life for himself.

- Joined the RAF at age 18. Shortly after he developed his first psychic ability: Empathy. In his first year training he was prone to nosebleeds and some fainting episodes. This hindered his military career to some degree, but once he learnt how to control it the fainting stopped and he learnt to hide the nosebleeds.

- He spent his time as an RAF regiment gunner and picked up some vehicle maintenance tricks.

- Left the RAF after his mandatory service to join the London Metropolitan Police Force at the age of 24.

- Met, dated, and married an American PhD student and relocated to Boston, Massachusetts by the time he was 28. Joined the Boston PD.

- Separated at 33, shortly after he developed his second psychic ability: Touch clairvoyance. The new difficulties with dealing with this and the realisation that something wasn’t right led to the separation.

- Toughed it out for five years, fully divorced when their differences could not be reconciled, and eventually relocated to Cordova.

- Wanting a change of pace, he turned to private investigation rather than seek out work with the local police.
