Las Almas actually brown hyenas don't laugh

may 16 full moon criss cross with katto!

His species might not cackle like the spotted hyenas did, but he was one of the happiest little fuzzballs tonight.

Charyena had wandered from his part of town and he couldn't stop moving, big puppyish paws carried him across the plains until the mountains that'd seemed distant were now upon him. It was a forest now, not like the ones he was used to from the south, but green and vibrant and full of sounds. At least he assumed it was green and vibrant, he couldn't discern much color other than the reflected blue of the moon.

The sound of something skittering against the leaf litter caught his attention, his nose worked away to figure out what it might be. A mouse maybe? Or a nice fat rat? He wanted it, whatever it was, so he began to creep along and sniff after it's trail.

BIGGEST YEEN EVER!*no really she's huge come on ok*

Frankie was still not used to the animal and so when it wanted out she kinda just went with it even though she was not incredibly fond of it. Plus side was she could remember a bit and take slight control but that was hard as heck to wrangle from the bug lover.

Tonight was no different save that tonight she was finding a hoard of termites in a fallen log and she was digging them out and tonguing them into her mouth. There were happy sounds coming from the aardwolf as she ate the nectar of the land gods, whining when this log was dry before she bolted off to another tree to start digging at the base of it. She wanted MORE! Her desire for more was met with oblivion to her surroundings as she went to work digging at an old tree that was barely standing.

Soft pants left her, a tongue lolling out as she dug even harder to get into it for her treasure!

The closer he got the more he realized that this was not a rat. Hungry Charyena mistook just about everything for food, but this didn't smell much like food at all. It didn't smell like a hyena but like, almost? That almost piqued the brown's attention, so he sped up his jolly trot.

What the heck is that? The hyena stood a few yards away from the small striped hyena with his head cocked and plumy tail wagging low. Then he barked to get the other shifter's attention.
#4
The aardwolf kept digging, bigs of bark and tree pulp flying around her as she buried her face into the tree some and chewed on it a smidge to try and open it up further to the termites that were hiding inside.

So close....so clo- HEY!

The bark scared the furry pants off of her, the yeen jumping straight up into the air and twisting around as she landed on her little paws. Her heart was pounding in her chest and all the fur down her back was raised as she looked around until she managed to catch sight of the other hyena.

Oh a big one!

A scary one still that scared the fur off of her! A small whining yip of a scold left her, unhappy at being scared >:(
#5
The sudden turn was startling but not scary, how could he be scared of such a tiny creature! She looked more like a friend, and smelled like a friend too.

His tall pointed ears moved back at the angry yip, but he wasn't too deterred. After a quick duck of his head as an apology Charyena's tongue lolled out, long and salmon pink, and he smacked the ground playfully
#6
The big yeen seemed to step back a bit as she scolded him for scaring the fur off of her but after a moment he dropped into something playful and that made her ears perk a little.

He didn't smell bad, didn't smell like from the cackle but he smelt like a friend.

The striped fur down her spine lowered a bit as she took some tentative steps towards him and when he smacked at the ground playfully, the aardwolf yipped and bounced a bit but this time in play!

It was hard to find playmates, so one who wanted to play made her bounce a little and then bounce towards him to lightly paw at his face a bit with her tiny paws.
#7
Grinning back at her, the brown yeen panted with excitement, his tail swishing playfully. It'd been so long since he'd had another hyena friend to play with! It was heartening to find another, he felt very warm with it.

The aardwolf bounced and Charlie yipped again, prancing in place and full of energy. She bopped his muzzle and so he happily bopped her back, a gentle paw to her shoulder.
#8
It felt like paly mode was just activated instantly as the booping was received and then GIVEN! The hyped up mini-yeen bounced up and lifted up on her hind legs to playfully punce at him a bit before running around him in a half circle before stopping and yipping in excitement at him.

Her tail was swishing back and forth with the building energy as she wanted to see if he'd give chase!
#9
Charlie was beaming the most hyena-y grin, happily watching the smaller yeen rear up to pounce his way. He played along, following her in a circle and spinning in place, tail beating against the back of his legs.

Eventually he got the memo, chase! He jumped forwards and skittered back a few steps, a feigned pounce to start the game.
#10
The small hyena bounced and yipped, happy sounds leaving the smaller beast as she sproinged around. Her tail was up and pink ears perked as she followed the bigger hyena's movements around.

The fake pounce had her springing backwards and then forwards at him before she took off around him and started to run around the area they were in. She didn't try and dart into the foliage away from him but she was running around and weaving through things to make him have to work to catch her!
#11
With a waggish hyena grin he skittered about until she took off, and then the chase was on. Charlie had never been a very competitive guy, he was more about the present moment, not the end result! So winning wasn’t really on his mind, all the brown yeen thought was “run hehe, friend friend friend.”

After a good bit of weaving past roots and trees he managed to nip the end of her tail. Just a soft clip of his teeth to tug her fur and let her know she’d been tagged.
#12
There was no real goal in mind, just to play and have fun because how often did she get to do that?! She bounced between bushes and sproinged off of trees until she felt the slight tug to her tail that made her yip and turn.

Devil! A playful whine left her as she chased right after him now, the smaller hyena running and then bouncing against his side to tackle the larger yeen to the ground with a proud high pitched barking sounds leaving her! If he didn't move, she'd go then to stick her long sticky tongue into his ear =3

Pounce hit!

#13
Charlie waited until she'd turned around, eyes wide and tail wagging with excitement. The second she tugged away from him he let go, and it was his turn to run. He scrambled backwards and spun into a jaunty run, paws slapping the ground as he barreled his way through the woods. Not nearly as graceful as she was, every leaf and twig snapped beneath his weight.

The weight against his side was surprising, he yelped as she pushed him to the ground. Most would find a tongue in their ear disgusting and shocking, but Charlie was used to it. He had siblings! This was common werehyena teasing! He shook his head, large pointed ears flapping and smacking her in the face.
#14
It was a bunch of fun chasing him and then being the smaller victor who tackled him to the ground. Her long sticky tongue played in his ear and then delivered a playful nip to it before bouncing off of him and laying down in the pounce position.

If he didn't get up in the next five seconds, he was going to find this pint sized hyeena jumping on his face...five...four...
#15
He yipped in response to the nip at his ear, then gathered himself to his feet when she moved off him. Standing up straight with his tail waving up high and ears perked, he grinned and watched her get ready to pounce. He could run again, he could pounce first! But instead!

He dropped to the ground and rolled over onto his back, filling his long fur with leaf litter and dirt. The ground felt good, she should definitely try. He barked at her from upside down, urging her to join him.
#16
She was ready to pounce on him, watching as he got up and then rolled? He didn't pounce her but he looked utterly happy laying like that on the ground. Slowly, she lifted up and walked over to him, sniffing his face and neck a bit before sitting and just...falling backwards.

Look, she wasn't the most graceful hyena but she got on her back with her legs out a bit and her long tongue lolling out of her mouth some. This was kind of comfy! A happy sound left the aardwolf, her tail wagging and flicking leaves and dirt from side to side.
#17
Charyena sniffed back, black nose snuffled through the fur on her muzzle with a playful vigor. Then she flopped down next to him, and with a happy whine he resumed his wriggling in the dirt. This was the life, hakuna matata and all that. Just some hyenas rolling in the woods :D

Eventually one of his big paws went astray and bopped her ear, his ears perked and he quickly turned her way to see what she might do next.
#18
With a wiggle and a happy content humph from the smaller yeen, she got rather comfortable next to him until she felt her beautiful big ear being BOOPED!

A whine left her at that, her legs rolling to him and then playfully bapping at his side while she tried to playfully nom on his face. She didn't know why but that felt like the right thing to do, to nom on his face lightly.
#19
She rolled over and thumped his side with her paws, and then her long snout was headed towards his cheeks. He welcomed her playful nibbles, tail swishing against the leaves below him and clearing a patch of dirt.

Eventually he decided to return the favor and nibble around her jaw.
#20
Little happy sounds left the small hyena as she nipped and let out small barks as her nose brushed against his face before her head tilted back as he returned the affection.

Her tail thumped hard on the ground in happy excitement and in a moment of pure fun, she got up and would try and just lay on his face in a 'haha i win' sort of move.
#21
Charlie was very welcoming of the friendly contact, and when the smaller hyena draped herself over his face like a fluffy rug he just snorted into her stomach. His tail thumped away against the ground, haha, you win!
#22
Happy little sounds left her as she pinned the bigger yeen and with her victory secured, she'd move and start to lick the side of his face and ears in a friendly grooming way. She was saying more hello's and just getting acquainted with him even more now. She was rather chill and relaxed, her energy ebbing a little as they laid here.
#23
This was so great, the best full moon he'd had in a while. Since being with his family, yeening around with his sisters and cousins. It was comforting to know there were others (somewhat) like him out there, who were happy and willing to goof off.

He accepted her friendly grooming and returned it, big sloppy licks were planted on her forehead and cheeks. The playful energy was waning as the night went on, melting into relaxation and jubilant laziness.
#24
They were both happy, yeen and person- even as she was slobbered all over. Big yeens, geez. She would happily just snuggle right up against him without a care in the world, content and lazy from all the playing and for once not feeling the intense desire to dig and hide herself away from everyone with how safe she felt.
