Chupacabras First night
#1

First night of Fringe. 2 AM.
Look without jacket.

The final performance of the evening during The After Party came to a conclusion and Rosemarie, clipboard tucked in one hand, a cup of lukewarm, mediocre coffee in the other, was dragged up on stage by the hosts to give a speech. Already a little teary-eyed, either from exhaustion or just from a swelling of emotions at seeing the festival come together like it had, she waved at the large crowd of artists and patrons alike gathered in Chupacabras that night. She stepped up to the microphone. Found her light, as a skilled actor would.

"Ugh. Wow. What an amazing first night!" It wasn’t exactly eloquent but she was starting to cry, she was so unbelievably happy. "Let’s give our performers and hosts this evening another round of applause, shall we?!" Rosemarie began to clap, hearing others do the same, with some whoops and whistles from the back of the establishment. She wiped at her eyes, laughing a little and drew a deep breath inward, adrenaline pumping.

"Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen! The amazing artists we have in our lineup - go see their shows at The Summit!!" More applause. "All of our amazing staff and volunteers! Without them, we wouldn’t have a festival! And of course, The Summit Theater - thank you to Sokol and the Summit production team!" She smiled broadly at the audience and clapped her hands together. "Thank you to lights and sound this evening!" She went on to thank sponsors before wrapping up the speech.

"This festival has been something I’ve wanted to bring into fruition for a long time, and it’s finally here, and I’m absolutely thrilled you’re all a part of it. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I know, I know, let’s get this sappy speech over so we can party. Tip your bartenders and have an amazing night!"

With that, the music swelled as chairs were removed from the dance floor to give people space to bust a move. Rosemarie waved once more to some applause and hollers before making her way off the stage, absolutely glowing with pride.

Think of this like a big group thread where your character(s) can make a cameo before branching off to smaller threads, or stick around for longer. Whatever works best for you!

Grace wasn't a night owl. Or an early bird, for that matter. She liked sleep when she could get it! All that meant that 2am was not her normal crowd, but it felt important as shit to be out here. Her bond with Rosemarie was weird. It wasn't like they were close pals or anything. They didn't get drinks together.

But there was an undeniable connection with Rosemarie and the Glitters. Like they'd all watched a fucking miracle happen together. Except it wasn't a miracle, it was something way better built in trust and skill and bravery and literal beaded sweat.

So when she saw Rosemarie up there looking weepy, having her moment like Grace recalled having her own at the psychic party, it was hard not to feel feelings. The Glitter Bombs at her side, she held two hands up in front of her mouth for a built-in megaphone.

"AYEEOOOWWW ROSEMARRIEEEEEEE!"

"WHOOOOOOOOOO!" Rika joined in, arms up in the air. This was genuinely pretty fun! Though she wondered who Sokol was?

A mystery to be discovered... someday, maybe.

As the music started, she grabbed her pact babes and dragged them to form a dance circle. Embarrassing moves only.

Vanessa did her best to stifle a yawn. This was incredibly fun and everything, but goodness it was well past her bedtime. She grinned as Grace and Rika whooped for Rosemarie and decided to throw in her support too. "YOU GO GIRL!" she shouted before devolving into a whoop of happiness. She was dragged to a dance circle by Rika and laughed the whole time. Stretched for a brief moment before getting into the groove with some sick, stupid dance moves that only a small white girl could pull off.

Xena was also there! With Ezra! Because no way they were missing out on a ten dollar festival with dancing, art, games, and general good vibes. And she of course wasn't tired at all, this was like noon for her. So when the heartwarming speech was over and the music started up, she jumped right back into the groove with a joyous "WOOOOOOO!"

This was going to be a very good night :)
