The Terrace snakes started manifesting

Now, Red wasn't a fashion expert, but luckily for him, men usually had rather limited options when it came to formal wear. And luckily for him, he knew better and had more than one suit. Tonight he opted for a dark-green, nearly black one. A black shirt and a red tie. A bit of punk rock slept through, as usual, but right now his outfit was hidden under the thick woolen coat as he waited for Morgan to appear.

Now, his dear boyfriend should be easy to spot, right? He had a penchant for being quite flashy. And Red would imagine him being fashionably late because of that. So he waited... and waited... slowly getting cold. Bless those heaters for bike riders...

outfit

How dare Red insinuate that Morgan's major defining trait was being late to a wedding? Is what he would be thinking if he was telepathic, but it would never be because he was born an otter. Instead, what he was thinking as he toned down his dress was that he didn't want to go to this particular venue, because if the owner showed up bad things were probably going to happen. Red had seemed more excited about having a date than telling him too much about his friends who were getting married, and that was cute. Heartwarming. Goddamn adorable.

So how could he just... not show up?

He couldn't do that to the doof!

Morgan was many negative things but he was no coward, for all the good bravery did him when holding hands tightly with lack of intellect.

He wasn't going to pretend he wasn't severely on edge as he spotted Red waiting for him and zoomed at supernatural speed towards him. Even knights used shields.

"Why are you waiting out here?" In the wide open, ready to be spotted. "Aren't you cold?" He barely smiled, clinging to Red's arm and looking around for familiar faces.

outfit but it's on five foot twiggy girl with her hair down so it's not quite as elegant

Ashley was outside. Because most of the wedding was outside! She stood within the heated tent, puttu in hand, nibbling it while staring largely through the space outside more than at it. She'd never worn anything like this before and was feeling, um. Especially small! So in the moments when Jamaal wasn't directly beside her, she typically people watched.

Spotting a man out by his lonesome in the cold outside the tent, she wondered if he was waiting for a date. He seemed chilly, if she had to guess by his body language. Poor guy! So her surprise was considerable when she saw the approach of someone, then a blur of movement, and that someone, um. Standing right next to the lonely guy from before?

That had happened... very... fast! Ashley hadn't had anything to drink yet, so she felt, um. Fairly confident that she hadn't hallucinated it! Now slightly alarmed, she decided to rotate carefully in place to look away from the pair and pretend she hadn't seen anything unusual at all.

There he waaaaas...

Red couldn't contain his smile. He gently wrapped an arm around Morgan's waist and gave him a sweet kiss on the cheek.

"Yeah... I am a bit cold. Let's get inside, shall we?"

The awkward girl remained unnoticed as most of snake's attention was on his dear boyfriend.
#5
And Morgan's attention was on how this thing was being held at the place he'd set ablaze by proxy, even as he gripped onto Red and pressed close, trying to act like he was just warming the poor snake up but honestly... hiding.

"Before you freeze to death," he agreed, eyes darting every single way possible. He imagined himself looking like a chameleon or something, eyes bugged out and looking in different directions.

"..."

Without a doubt, there was something troubling his dear boyfriend. But indeed, Red first rushed into the first warm place he could, before he'd feel drowsy and disoriented.

"Hey... You look as if there were cops chasing you. What's wrong?"
#7
Bundled up next to Red in the warmth now, he scanned the faces of each person passing by, in case he recognised someone and had to flee. Because he was not up for a confrontation after what had happened. He did not like conflict! Honest! Unless he could win!

"Not unless you're chasing me," he attempted a joke that would probably fall as flat as his tone.
#8
"Morgan..." Red put hands on his shoulders, calmingly. "Come on. What happened...?"

The boy looked so panicked...
#9
Hands pressed on his shoulders like he was being seized; the otter screeched and chattered angrily within and Morgan bit his lip to keep from joining in. It was Red, just Red. Nothing scary, nothing dangerous. Just affection, just kindness, care.

"Don't worry about it," he insisted, looking off into the crowd. "They probably wouldn't recognise me like this..."
#10
Perhaps he shouldn't push. It seemed to make Morgan's anxiety worse... So Red just sighed and smooched his boyfriend's forehead.

"We can talk about this later, but... please, let's talk about this, okay?"

Hard not to worry. Never seen Morgan so jumpy.
#11
Just a little smooch. Nothing sinister. Nothing bad. Calm, safe. Safe with Red. He had to believe that and get this over with. Taking a deep breath, he slid a hand down his companion's arm and slipped it into his hand.

"It's not a big deal, really," he sighed, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. " Let's just... enjoy ourselves? "
#12
Red smiled softly, gave Morgan another smooch.

"Yeah, let's... Let's eat something first, maybe?" He hummed, squeezing his hand gently.
#13
Eat. Okay sure. He could eat even if his stomach was in chunky knots right about now. Looping an arm round one of Red's, he pressed close like velcro. A shield, a buffer.

"Alright, let's go."
#14
The tension was rubbing off on Red, though. Just... what made his dear boyfriend act like this? He let out a shaky sigh and waltzed over to where food was. Not particularly hungry himself, but maybe it would help Morgan relax somehow...
#15
Weirdly enough Morgan wasn't all that hungry himself. Strange how anxiety could go either way in that regard. Eat nothing for a while, or eat everything in sight. Still, he grabbed the first thing within reach and started nibbling as if it would hide him deeper in the wedding crowd.

Which was honestly a pretty big crowd, now he was looking round at it. Maybe he'd get away with no incident, being here with Red.

He leaned against the snake, pressed close.

"Eat something while I keep you warm," he insisted. Almost a purr, a poorly formulated flirtation
#16
"Aww, baby..." Here his boyfriend clung to him like a baby koala and Red couldn't help but smile. Red gave the otter a gentle squeeze and swayed him. "I couldn't ask for a better heater..."
#17
Hey, cuddles were nice but he'd expressly urged the snake to eat something!

Smirking, mischievous, he grabbed another of whatever he was eating - he wasn't really paying much attention to the detail of what or how much - and made an attempt to shove it into Red's mouth, giggling.
#18
There was his Morgan. Playful, up to some harmless mischief... The snake shifter nearly choked but couldn't help, but laugh at this.

"Heeeeyyyy..." Red flicked his nose when he managed to swallow.
#19
Otters gotta otter!

And it was a really good thing that the guy who'd chosen to fall for him for whatever reason had a decent sense of humour and the patience to deal with nonsense. He grinned as his nose felt the bite of a nail, then in otter fashion leaned in to gently chomp the end of Red's nose.
#20
Now Red just picked him up and held like a baby.

"Oh, behave." He said with a loving smirk.
#21
Which was like... a really weird thing to do at a wedding but Morgan was a weird thing himself. And people could finish that joke by themselves.

"Never, but you love it," he accused the snake, relaxed, bundled up like an adorable river otter floating down a stream.
#22
"I love it. And I love you." Red almost purred, gazing at him. How could he even get mad at Morgan? Impossible.
