Hawknell • Neutral

Hawknell, once the center of the region, has since fallen by the wayside and is now a relatively quiet urban neighborhood. A little rough around the edges, Hawknell has some rundown streets and buildings, but most of it is livable, and parts of it are frequently under slow-going construction. The crime rate is middling and the residents are largely lower middle class, but it isn’t a total hellhole.

Day Dreamers Spa

Day Dreamers Spa is a place anyone can come in and relax! The spa is open until late to allow for all variety of schedules. It offers many services and packages, as well as a general hot tub/steam room area to relax and mingle with others. Come on in, relax, if you're lucky, enjoy some live music, too!

Hawknell Humane Society

While the building itself is looking a bit worse for wear, HHS is a passionate and dedicated no-kill animal shelter. Donations and adoption fees are the things that keep these doors and the kennels open to a variety of animals in need of a “furever” home, and volunteers play a big role in keeping this place as clean and efficient as possible.

Hawknell Inn

Owner: Erik Satō
The Hawknell Inn is a safehouse for supernatural folks who need a place to lay low. Formerly a hotel, the building has over a dozen rooms to accommodate anyone in need, and has few rules - cleanliness, courtesy, and no violence.

Just in Thyme (open daylight hours only)

Owner: Wallace Rush
Specializing in herbs and spices both fresh and dried, Just In Thyme is easily recognized from a distance thanks to its custom rooftop greenhouse. The space features plenty of natural light and just about any herb you can think of—plus a section with a variety of beginner-friendly houseplants. A sign posted in front states no vampires and suggests they shop at the online store instead.

Moody’s Meat Shop

Moody’s is a gargantuan and high-end butcher shop where customers can find almost any type of meat they might need. Shiny marble floors and refrigerated glass cases let shoppers know immediately what sort of establishment they’ve come to - a pricey one, but packing the kind of cuts that will deliver the bang for your buck. On the shelves, a myriad of locally handmade sauces and spice combinations are on display, marketed as the perfect accent to whatever cut you might be taking home for dinner.

Sk8 City

A popular roller skating rink in the heart of the city, Sk8 City offers fun for the whole family. Multicolored disco lights dance across the waxed floor for maximum fun time, and the carpeted area offers a place to nurse that twisted ankle or enjoy a snack and a beverage from the cafe. Sk8 City is open until 2 AM on the weekends, and hosts Roller Derby on Saturday Nights.

Waffle Palace

The knockoff, but still delicious competitor of waffle house. Cheap and filling food that stays open 24 hours. The outside looks deceptively small, but the inside is huge. You can hang out all day to enjoy an assortment of local magazines, a group of retirees playing something like poker, and the longtime chef that consistently gets your name wrong.
