Ahh, he’d promised to update and then had totally gotten caught up in DOUBLE DATE land.

It went really well actually! He was super understanding and accepting of everything, and we even talked about how to prevent another shift from happening at the farm.

Also talked about the unturning stuff too.

All the worst-case scenario talk hadn't been necessary after all. Shouldn't have been a surprise, given what she knew of Henry's ability to explain things clearly and empathetically, and Liam's compassion and loyalty. She sank into her mattress, relief unknitting her shoulders.

They had plans for the future, and Liam was armed with necessary info for future gatherings. She wondered if he knew the identity of the unturned were. Sad as it was, she was probably never going to see that exact makeup of people at a party ever again :(. Sad but necessary.

Unturning knowledge needs to be more widespread, for everyone's safety. You helped with that.

Henry was pretty sure that Lima would have learned everything through Catriona eventually if he hadn’t already known, but it was good to at least inform him that one of his friends had been apart of this life.

Give him a heads up when it came to future parties like this one so that he’d know what signs to look out for.

Feels like a big weights been lifted off my shoulders for sure, but I do feel a little silly for worrying so much about it. I should have trusted Liam more when it came to this stuff.

Things aren't clear-cut these days. Fear can make people act out of character. I don't think it was silly to worry, but really glad things went good.

And the ole 'multiple things can be true at once' sticking point. She thought of Cat. Wondered if she would ever tell her the woman Bree was seeing was a vampire. Cat's love for her didn't cancel out her feelings towards vampires. It just didn't. Probably. She wasn't...keen to test that.

She was, admittedly, surprised that Henry thought going someplace more serious was an option for them.

She'd let things with Waylin get serious. She couldn't make that mistake again, especially now that she knew she wanted to stay human. Xena was literally gonna live forever. Bree was a blip in her timeline.

This sounded a lot like what Waylin had been going through with Misha, but also a little different. Xena and Bree at least seemed to be on the same page of liking each other where Waylin and Misha had been a bit disconnected.

But the whole, dating just to end things. Or continuing a relationship that left one party feeling hurt, just wasn’t something that Henry could understand.

Felt like it was just asking for hurt feelings later on down the line.

But… Bree was happy, and she deserved that happiness even if she felt it was only temporary…

I guess, but then that leaves you with a lot of questions. I know not all relationships can last forever, but it seems hard to me to start something that you know will eventually have to end regardless of feelings.

She was pretty okay at compartmentalizing. If a relationship was given a big rubber stamp and named "casual" she could vibe with that.

But...there was the wanting to have these talks. Two people who generally weren't great at being vulnerable were slowly opening up to being vulnerable with each other. It was nice. Talking about big stuff could complicate shit, but maybe she still wanted to do it.

I'm the queen of not thinking about it fully. Look up 'delulu' in a dictionary and my face is right there.

Don't feel bad, Henry. All this was only occurring to her now because of her last relationship. And he was right about the questions. Maybe she could get some of those answered.

Henry fully disagreed with that, but it didn’t feel like something that needed to be argued. He trusted that Bree knew what she was going, and what she wanted, and if things turned bad for whatever reason… Henry would be here to support in the ways that he could.
