Ike Quarry Jumping in

During This :D

This was great, she loved the sun, the festivities. The people. All of it.

Rhona had some snacks, needing to refuel her energy before going for some jumps into the water, when she about walked into a bloke because her mind was elsewhere.

She smiled, hand up, plate of snacks in the other hand, "Och, sorry mate! Was distracted a bit, " the Scot apologized, smiling, looking a bit embarrassed.

Swimming was exhausting in the best way. Made for good hunger, too, which Harrison was indulging now along the shore. No plate necessary for some watermelon, but he'd definitely be rinsing off his hands in the water in a minute here.

"Oh hey, no, you're good," he assured the woman, stepping out of her path in case she opted to carry on.

"I think all of us are a bit sun blind with this water."

A small laugh left her, nodding as she stood there for a moment.

"Aye but it's great- haven' a good time? " she liked talking, so, even if she accidentally almost ran into him with snacks, she was happy to chat.

"Absolutely. First big gathering I've been to since I got here, really glad to have made it. You know Liam well or anything?" He didn't, but he was determined to change that! And apparently it was welcome, seeing as he was here.

"Oh aye, really? Same mate! " she told him, smiling big on that one because really, she'd not done too much with events since moving here. "Getting tah know 'em. He's datin' my cousin, Cat, " she said, pointing to the other redhead. "You? "

Ohhh cousins made as much sense as sisters. Alright, this was all coming together. Harrison had a semi-decent sense of how some folks knew each other in this gathering, which was nice.

"I work at a ranch next door to Liam's farm. We ran into each other at the feed store the other week and hit it off a bit so I guess this is my 'getting to know you' phase of potential friendship."

Which made him a little bit of an outsider in this gathering, but not as bad as he'd thought would be the case.

"Oh aye, tha right? " she said, smiling.

"What do ye do at yer ranch? "
#8
"Just a farmhand, so really whatever the owners need." Which was basically a nonstop list of tasks. It was great job security, though, if you were good at what you did. And Harrison liked to think he was.

"Herding cattle, helping with loading them in for vet visits, repairing fences, cleaning out horse stalls, general maintenance..." So much more, but he didn't think she wanted a comprehensive list of things he might do.

"Grew up doing this stuff, so it's basically all I'm good for." Smiling as he poked fun at himself.
