buckets of... buckets

The bucket drumming set-up seemed like the best choice the the artsy alley, though by the way some people were looking at him as they passed through, no set-up would have been better. A shame to think that way; drumming was as valid an art form as any other, and this was a kind of living artwork, so why not provide a soundtrack? There was value in street performing! Good street performers added a lot to a city.

And maybe it looked like he was just getting ready to bang on a variety of wildly colourful overturned buckets (he was), but he'd chosen the set so carefully, experimented with all kinds of buckets that made all kinds of sounds, modified some himself to get the desired beat from them.

Twirling his sticks nervously, it struck him as kind of funny that he had a minor case of stage fright before starting any performance. He wondered if it would ever go away, because I've he started he always felt good, moving easily into the zone with each measure. This was no exception, beginning with a basic beat, graduating slowly into more complex rhythms as the stage fright was shed.
