History
Born on March 13, 1983. Originally from Alexandria, Egypt, Sayed's family immigrated to the United States when he was three years old. Both of his parents were medical professionals who moved to the charming village of Long Grove in Lake County, Illinois. There, Sayed grew up with the expectation that he would follow in his parents' footsteps. Unfortunately, life had other plans and Sayed found himself studying literature instead. At the age of 33, Sayed graduated from Northwestern University with a PhD in Early Modern and Renaissance Literature, and soon after, found a career in the Center for Renaissance Studies at the Newberry Library in Chicago.
His parents had grown to accept his life choices and Sayed found himself happy with the direction his life was taking him. Unfortunately, it all came to a screeching halt just nine months in to his new career. While walking to the L, he was pulled into an alleyway and attacked. He doesn't remember much about the attack, but when he awoke with a woman over him informing him that he was a vampire, he knew that life was never going to be the same.
After that, he quit his job at the Newberry, fell out of contact with his family and friends, and began teaching night classes at a nearby community college. Life never seemed right, and Sayed never felt as though he fit in with the Clutch of vampires in Chicago. After collecting some inheritance money from a deceased relative, Sayed left Chicago and the Clutch and moved to Ridgefield County, Colorado.
Initially, he made friends with a group of vampires who were planning to start their own clutch. When that fell by the wayside, and Sayed was attacked by Levka, he decided to join the Eventide District clutch. Life in the Eventide District Clutch didn't seem to help him stay out of trouble. While in the clutch, Sayed experienced many problems; including attacking a psychic who used her dream walking abilities to knock him out and call the police on him.
As problems continued, Sayed was eventually kicked out of Eventide Clutch in January 2021 after being knocked into deadsleep and delivered back to Alder Heights by Catrina Stewart. Angry and feeling lost, he wandered around Ridgefield until stumbling into Zaharia Cel-Tradat, who suggested he form his own clutch. With Zaharia as his confidant, second, and girlfriend, Sayed formed his own clutch, Dark Moon Society, in June 2021 along with Jaime Solaire and Matilda Carpenter. They were supposed to be nomadic and secretive in nature, but that didn't quite happen.
Around the same time he started the clutch, Sayed also opened the Starling Hills Public Library, which provided funds for the clutch as well as a safe place for them to gather. Unfortunately, the library attracted negative attention when it was discovered who was behind it. In July of 2021, Asha Rao and Levka Orlovsky caused some mayhem in the library, which put into clear focus to the clutch how disliked Sayed was in the were community. Police were called to the scene and Sayed returned to the library only to be arrested and jailed for two days at the Ridgefield County Jail due to a warrant being out for his arrest following the attack on the psychic from when he was in Eventide.
Life wasn't all bad as Sayed's relationship with Zaharia continued to grow. He proposed to her on her birthday and the two began to have small discussions about what their wedding could look like. Unfortunately, this would be short lived as Dark Moon fell apart in June 2022 following a horrific evening where Jaime had been attacked and nearly killed and Sayed, trying to save a life, turned but left behind Matilda's wife, Daniella Jiménez-Hendricks. That same night, Sayed was informed by Abraham Barlet that weres were planning another attack to kill him. Believing the threat to be true, he left the area, leaving behind everyone and everything.
Sayed, missing Zaharia, called her on Christmas. The talk didn't go the best, but he realized he needed to come back. In early January 2023, Sayed returned to the Ridgefield area. Unfortunately, the damage to his relationship with Zaharia had been too much for her to handle and they officially broke up. In late February, he sold the library.
