Kind at her core, but you gotta get there

History
Pretty okay childhood, liked to roughhouse with the kids on the block and took a lot of interest in building things
Tried college, decided to switch to trade school where she then became an ironworker
Married a working class man she met at a job site
Trouble having kids
Finally, in her mid-thirties they had a daughter
Becoming a mother didn’t change her dedication to work, but her and her husband were the best parents they could be even if a tad strict
Once old enough, the daughter left for college and left them with an empty nest
Eventually, Sandra retired from her job
She put her time into volunteering as a sponsor to help rehabilitate ex-cons
Daughter met someone that immediately didn’t fit in with the family. There were a lot of red flags that did not sit well with Sandra and her husband. They asked for her to end the relationship. She refused.
Despite a lot of pushback, her daughter eventually married the man.
This led to a whole lot of tension in the family, but they decided to keep their comments to themselves at this point for the sake of the relationship with their daughter.
But, then everything hit the fan a few years into the marriage. Her daughter had a huge falling out with her husband as his behavior took the turn for the worse. She requested family to come over and help support her when she decided to break up with him.
Parents arrived to the sounds of shouting.
An argument became a full out fight. There was a flurry of activity and moments that are too hard to recall besides the ungodly speed and strength. By the time help arrived, Sandra woke up to the sight of a flashlight beaming light at her, her daughter in a coma due to a head injury after being thrown, and a husband killed.
She healed up way too fast. The doctor’s called her recovery a miracle despite everything feeling like the opposite.
Not fully understanding, she was plagued by nightmares and intentions not hers seemingly out of nowhere.
The basics of what she had become gradually dawned on her. All of it is incredibly, deeply flawed, but its the best she can wrap her head around.
Detectives were unable to find him, it was as if he vanished. The injuries sustained didn’t make sense either and there were murmurings that maybe it was simply a bear attack which she refused to believe. Sandra knew what she saw, what they all experienced.
Feeling as if the only way her family will ever be safe again, she made the decision to hunt down her daughter’s ex despite protests.
Eventually, states away, she nearly ran into him again. Closer.
While in Telluride checking things out, a full moon found her upon a campsite, lured in by food. An unexpected girl spooked her and she attacked. The memory is scattered much like the blood and feel of wrenching in jaws, a lockjaw of anger.
Not able to figure out if it was real or not the next morning, she was absolutely pale about it, but moved ever on.
Ridgefield is next up and seems promising. Maybe this will be the city where she finds him.
