Ruth was born in the late seventies in New York City to displaced Dominican and Puerto Rican parents, Javier and Yolanda Diaz. She was the middle child of three children. When she was eighteen, her older brother, Cesar, lost his life in his struggle with mental illness, something her family does not speak about to this day. It was difficult for Ruth to cope, and she coped with sex, drugs and alcohol in her late teens and early twenties as she waited tables to put herself through college, with the help of her parents. Ruth has a lot of internalized rage about this and still doesn’t know how to fucking cope with the loss of her brother.

She studied fine art, with a minor in art history, wanting to get out of NYC and see the fucking world.

Her first backpacking trip after graduation took her across several countries in Asia and Europe, where she eventually landed in a northern town in Sweden called Kiruna. It was while camping in the mountains here that she met Beth the Bengal tiger. The two quickly became good friends, and in a drunken profession of platonic love for her new bestie a couple of weeks into her trip, Ruth asked Beth to turn her so they’d always be together. Beth agreed, then fucking abandoned her two weeks later due to cold feet. She made sure a local ambush at least looked after Ruth.

Cut to two years later! Ruth finally started to get the hang of this weretiger bullshit she was stuck with, no fucking thanks to Beth. Fuck you, Beth. She stays in Sweden, much to the chagrin of her family and remains with the local ambush. The prince takes on the role of adopted sire and teaches her all she knows about being a tiger. Eventually, with enough help from those around her, Ruth leaves the ambush to pick up where she left off in her travels.

She moves across Europe and the UK, touching down in France and England for a little while, only coming back to visit her family in NY when she felt the most human and in control. Ruth has a hard time taking risks now, quite fearful of the unknown, especially while being on her own. She spends most of the 2000-2010s just getting her life back together.

In 2015, Ruth travels to Nova Scotia, where she runs with another ambush for a bit. She stays there for two years where she gets stronger and learns how to do hybrid shifting. It's not easy and it takes more effort than it's worth most of the time but she uses it in fights to her advantage against other were tigers in the ambush. She finds some freedom in fighting, and it helps with her frustration and the bottled rage she's carried most of her life.

When vampires outed themselves in 2017, she fucking knew it was only a matter of time before weres were out there for everyone to know about. Ta fucking da, it happened. Sure enough, a tiger was caught on video, no less. To this day, Ruth remains very secretive about her were status. She bounced around several Canadian cities after leaving her second ambush, not doing much with her art outside of selling what she could to make money while still waiting tables. Is she a bit of a disappointment to her parents? Maybe. Does she care? Fuck yeah, she does, but she refuses to be open with them about what she is.

In August of 2023, she set her sights on settling down in an up-and-coming city called Ridgefield in Colorado, landing herself in Hawknell. She hopes to stick around here for a little while at least before picking up and moving to the next town.
