- Simon was certainly a baby that was born and he was born in Glasgow. His mother was single and still in education, but luckily for them, they were taken in by a rich uncle, Emmett, allowing Veronica to get that law degree.

- The unremarkable child became a favorite of Emmett, given the curiosity they had for the world. The man became as father for him and Veronica was ever so relieved Simon actually had a good father figure in his life. She ended up never marrying, actually having no interest in men.

- Simon was average at school, slightly less average at sports, managing to actually be a pretty successful runner until a tragedy struck...

- At 15, young Vass started developing that little power he had. At first, he just became irrtable around irritated people. Uncontrollably sobbing around people who were holding their sadness in. It could have switched as soon as he entered the room. Sobbing, laughing, raging, he had no control over it. And no one had control over him either. Anxiety tended to be contagious as well and one time it pushed Vass to self-harm. And then it became a coping mechanism, as pain usually brought him back to normal. Snapped him back to his own feelings and they turned to be feelings of disgust.

- Discovering this secret, Veronica and Emmett decided to get the boy help and official diagnosis. Well, issue was, no doctor really knew about psychic powers let alone believed in them. Simon got misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder and no treatment seemed to help him, which finally let landed him in mental institution.

- And it was torture. Vass tended to isolate himself from other people, didn't wanted to cooperate because nothing seemed to help. Often ended up restrained so he wouldn't hurt himself. A difficult young patient, unfortunately no one really believed him when he said that nothing was wrong with him.

- Things changed a bit when he met another fellow patient whose name was Ian Blair. A boy his age in similar situation, only he was tormented by voices. All the voices, almost all the time, with small moments of reprieve when he managed to turn his power off. The boy who constantly cried and often bled. Vass found a kindred spirit. Someone who understood, someone who believed him, too.

- Times were tough, but the two became friends. Ian managed to make slow progress in taking control over his power and decided to teach Vass the technique he invented. And it seemed to actually work. Simon saw the boy as his saviour and developed feelings for him. But they ended up getting separated as they were caught sneaking out to visit each other.

- Eventually some sharply dressed men came to pick Ian up and Vass was left alone. But he worked hard to get control over his power and get out of this hellish place. And finally, he did! Unfortunately, Ian disappeared and no one was willing to tell him where he was.

- Well... If not one boy, than another... Hey, since when was he gay? Vass figured that probably since forever...

- Life outside hospital didn't magically became easier. He never had perfect grades, but his institutionalization caused him to fall behind and flunk school. Through his uncle's connection, he managed to find a job as an actor once he became an adult, though.

- Adulthood was much more fun, though. Especially once he finally managed to control his power. He finally figured out he can influence people. Always cheer them up! Make people more friendly. More willing to do things for him! Or sometimes just sap their emotions to make himself feel better. Vass enjoyed attention, especially in the budding goth scene, and eventually rose up in ranks, partly through his own determination to learn and partly thanks to his powers. All was well until another tragedy struck.

- During one of the castings, a competing actor got really jealous of him and wanted him eliminated. And that's how Vass learned that he wasn't the only one with power to influence people. The competitor was a vampire and suggested the young man to give up. Once Simon figured out that something was wrong, in his hotheadedness, he delivered the other a delicious lunch of knuckle sandwich. And obviously, he lost the fight. And became dinner himself.

- The next day, Vass woke up in a morgue. It was a miracle! Or... not. The vampire played a cruel prank on the boy, turned him but left no instructions that would let him survive. But the instincts were strong in him, he followed his cravings. One of his colleagues ended up cutting himself with a wire, Simon found himself licking blood off the wall. Absolutely disgusting, but... it worked. And during next new moon, Vass became a vampire.

- And with a new unlife came another set of problems. There was nothing he hated more than losing control and the more he thought about it, the more prone to losing control he was. However, during one bloodlust, he was actually taken in by another vampire for tutoring. Alicia was her name and she found leaving a fledgeling to their own devices rather irresponsible.

- Vass continued his career performing at night. Finding snacks after shows and those were plenty, as he gained fans. Eventually proved himself enough for his new mentor to invite him to the clutch she was a part of. And a whole new world of possibilities opened for the young man...!

- But... suddenly unlife became rather uneventful for him. They moved places to avoid suspicions, but he eventually found the safety rather boring. He remained in contact with his uncle and his mother, until they both died of old age. He ended up inheriting uncle Emmett's fortune... But Vass never found himself getting old, which was a rather surreal feeling for him. The lack of change forced him to seek change, so he left the clutch and moved to United States, concealing himself in cargo, as a dead body. So long and thanks for all the fish.

- Now, that was change, huh. At first, he tried his way in Hollywood, getting some minor roles here and then. But movies were... ugh. It wasn't the same, he craved live audience. So he found his way to Broadway where he became a minor success. To avoid getting outed, he kept moving places, chasing men he liked, joining and leaving groups. The life remained exciting, but he had no idea how much better it would become.

- Oh, the internet. As soon as video platforms arose, Vass became fascinated by them. The amateurish charm of it all, people trying their best at singing, acting and what have you in glorious low resolution. And the scene kept on evolving. It was always tempting for him to try on his own, but there was something he understood quickly. Internet was forever and it was a sure way to getting outed. But on the other hand, if he tried to do it in a rather unremarkable place...?

- Off to Colorado he went. Trying his little experiment here. Ah, it was one state he never really explored much... And what was better than a quiant little county like Ridgefield? Could serve as a perfect backdrop for his shenanigans, especially with so many scenic locations! Vass could barely contain his excitement about meeting new people and getting new opportunities!
