Necromancy: Developed as babies, the twins would often stare at seemingly nothing and react as though something was there. Someone was there. The twins would frequently interact with their maternal grandmother, who had passed just before they were born.
As they grew older, they found that they could call forth specific spirits by touching objects that belonged to someone who had passed.
Spirits will sometimes approach the twins on their own accord, which does not affect their metaphysical energy as long as they do not interact with the spirit. Purposefully using their power will slowly drain them in a very physical sense: their skin will become pale and wrinkly, their eyes will look sunken in, their hair will become flat and dull, and they will shrink. It is like they are wilting. Their appearance does not stay this way, but will take longer to rejuvenate the longer they allow it to go on; the worst of which can take upwards of a week to recover.
Pyrokinesis: Jacinta, with her sister’s help, has mastered producing a bonfire from a single spark. She is currently working on producing fire from heat alone. Overuse causes her to feel the sensation of drowning. Her lungs fill up with phantom water, and she can’t breathe.

Amaranta Ramona and Jacinta Paola Rosas were born to displaced Puerto Rican parents, Helio Rosas and Marisol Flores, in rural Ohio. Both subtle and not-so-subtle racism often alienated the family, leading many people to think the family odd. Once the twins became of school age, this ostracization became worse. The twins, who were strong and clever, often got the best of those who tried to bully them. Their power, while largely unknown by the general populace, still made the girls creepy to the simple townsfolk.
Times were rough for the family for much of the twins’ childhoods. Their parents grew to be fearful of them, as much of the town did. When the twins were 16 years old, their parents finally had enough of it and decided that they were possessed and took them to a pastor to be helped. The twins spent a year under the care of the pastor, mostly separated from each other and, what most would call, neglected and abused. It was during this time that Jacinta and Amaranta developed their second abilities, after being routinely exposed to fire (representing hellfire) and water (representing baptism).

They started off by hitchhiking their way through different states in the midwest, eventually acquiring their own campervan through illegal means (they stole it).
