Andie has only recently discovered that they can feel other people’s emotions quite intensely. Doesn’t yet know what this means. It is uncontrollable and often causes them to feel a much stronger intensity of the same emotion. For instance, if it’s joy, Andie will feel euphoric. If it’s a negative emotion, like sadness, they may feel absolutely depressed to the point of being unable to get out of bed. These emotions can last up to several hours if they’ve used their power for too long, making it next to impossible to get anything else done.

History
- Born in 1986. Grew up in Ajax, Ontario. Hated it. Hated wearing a school uniform. Hated most people they met at school. Kids can be cruel.
- Came out as queer when they were in high school. Parents did not approve. Leaned on siblings for support.
- Always loved reading and writing and when they were old enough, they left Canada and moved to Alder Heights to study English Literature and Creative Writing.
- Dropped out of school in their second year due to mental health and stress. Eventually came back and finished their degree years later.
- Worked in cafes and bookstores and wherever else they could find work. Came to love it. Volunteered at animal shelters when possible and adopted a cat named Spider.
- Came out as non-binary in 2015 and changed their name to Andie. Didn’t bother telling their parents about it but their brother and sister continued to be supportive from afar.
- In the fall of 2019, they opened up their own feminist bookstore/cat cafe in the Heights called Spider Books, after their cat. There are always cats and kittens hanging out in the bookstore and you can even adopt one of them or bring your own if they’re friendly. Has an agreement with the local animal shelter to help get some of their cats adopted and it's where the cats/kittens up for adoption come from. A percentage of book sales go towards a different charity of their choice each month.
