OLDER THAN DIRT OK
-
395 BC
Born in Sparta, Greece in the winter of 395 BC to a very prominent military family in Sparta. Zephy had four older brothers and a baby sister, while her father was often at war and her brother training for it, she was home with her mother learning all that she could from her. Zephy took to her schooling well as well her various training. She excelled with anything athletic and strength based; it was during this time that she learned about her ability to manipulate metal when she was gifted an arm band that was forged too small and she easily willed it to widen to fit her bicep.

When she turned 18, she had a stunning winter wedding. Married off to one of the young soldiers, Dareios and she took on his name from it. Gaining her own home, she would tend to it but also to give him five children through the years he was off to war fighting. While he was fighting, she was home helping train their own children with the climate of their world.

Zephy was 26 by this time, her sons and daughter growing like weeds and her husband gaining rank in the military. It would be at this time that Sparta was at war against Thebes and her unease over the war grew. She became stricter with her own personal training and that of her young children but some still were too small to fight. War though was unkind and it showed just how so when it claimed the love of her life and stole him from her family. She would be left with five children to raise somehow.

With just her and her children now, she decided to head to the small village where her eldest brother lived. He offered to help her so her kids could grow up alongside their cousins. On the month-long travel though, bandits and raiders attacked the small group of them and being just herself and two soldiers, it was a bloody fight. The struggle would lead to her only having her eldest son alive and her daughter. Losing three of her children to stray arrows cracked a piece of her and made her bitter. Unknown to her, this would be when her sire would find her in the pain of loss as she buried her children and finished the travel to her brother.

366-362 BC
At age 32, Zephyra took to learning more weapons. No one had the balls to judge the woman who lost her husband and three children for wanting to protect what was left of her family. All the while, war’s were still raging and she was home helping her family grow and protecting them. At night though, she met with a mysterious stranger who taught her how to use the bow and even brought her a crossbow to master. During these years she found herself once more growing fond of another man as more than just a teacher or friend.

356 BC
38 years of age, her surviving children have grown and made it to teenagers and she has started to heal from the pain of losing so many loved ones at once. With the wars having calmed down, Sparta itself was reeling from it all and she was still training to be a sellsword. With no desire for a husband again, she took to training still with her evening guest. During this, she had no idea that he'd been slipping his blood into the wine he offered her and with that knowledge known to just him, he used a ceramic tipped arrow that she couldn't stop and shot her through the heart with it. Zephy was stunned at the hit, her eyes wide as she found herself ripping the arrow out and internally she bled out as her heart stopped. It did not take long for her to come back, the wound closing and leaving nothing behind as she woke to stare at the man who killed her. What she was unaware of is that he would use her to turn against her own family, waiting for the new moon and to see what happened. He only fed her enough information for that night, including that blood could save the dying. On her first new moon, the sky was utterly dark when the hunger hit. She'd tried to leave but a phrase implanted in her mind made her stay and tear into those of her family that remained. All laid dead and drained, the haze lifting as she held her eldest son in her arms as he lay bleeding on her lap. Unable to let him go, she forced her blood onto him before he died. The cycle repeated. He came back and both were now painfully new to this and had to rely on the man who turned Zephy while she kept her son from wanting to kill him.

5 years of being a vampire. Of learning and training in a whole new light. Zeph kept her anger contained only doing so to protect her son who's temper was explosive still and she was the only thing keeping him from destroying her maker. As twisted as it was, she still had feelings for him and they made her want to protect him.

341 BC
10 years and counting, Zephyra was stronger, her son as well to the point where she felt safe enough to remove them from him. When he left as he normally did, she grabbed her Son and they left the lands of Sparta to travel all the way to Delphi. It was across the water but a worth it trek due to her sire being afraid of water; it was why he stayed in Sparta for so long. Here, mother and son was safe and took this time to continue to master themselves.

316 BC
Zephyra had taken to be a sellsword, only working at night but she was effective and deadly in her work. She earned coins all over Greece and even coined the name Nightingale. She didn't mind it, people sought her out and if they accepted her terms, she took care of their problem. her son though, he was wanting to step away and with his mothers blessing, broke free from her on the promise to contact her yearly. With him agreeing to such terms, she sent him off with his fathers sword and she went on her own way.

16 BC
Years rolled on, occasionally she met up with her son, both trading stories of where they were and how they were making it along in this long world. She kept every scroll he sent her, every letter and trinket and he did the same for her as they often stayed separated. Zephy stayed in Mediterranean areas more often than he did but that did not stop the bond that they had.

The world had changed vastly but thankfully people still wanted others dispatched or dealt with and the ancient vampire still had a way to make coin but it was slowing down. As it did, she started to work on peoples weapons, using her metal talent to fix items or even make new ones. It was a strange switch going from bounty hunter in essence to a smith but after nearly nine hundred years give or take, she was due a break.

570 BC - 6 AC
The break from taking lives was pleasant, focusing on weapons and rebuilding them. Making them stronger and even honing her own skills as a weapons smith. It was a good career, even if people found it odd that she only worked evenings. When people got too nosy with that, a well placed suggestion tended to shut them up and let her just live her life as she wanted. Living-wise, she was doing well. It wasn't easy all the time to make sure she still had safe places to go for the sun but the vampire managed. Time was still strange, keeping track harder but truly she kept doing what she was passionate about while keeping small tabs on her son. These years she spent them honing her magic to a fine edge point where it took a good while before she felt the ill effects of her own magic which was a boon to her.

7 AC- 1492 AC
Time was hitting a blurry point; it had started to do that years ago. She started to keep journals to at least keep track of events she'd been involved in. Strategies she'd formed and places she's been. Zeph did her best to keep moving around, having lived in almost every city of Greece several times over as she kept a low profile but also in-depth enough that people trusted her work. It was during this year though that she'd meet her first clutch and get involved with them, learning and finding a stronger sense of self, she would embrace it and learn how to be a protector for those in the group; even going so far as to be the one to help directly protect their dominos. Her son had no interest in joining, enjoying his freedom but she was at peace with this, glad for him to enjoy his long life still.

1550-1600's AC
Still living in the area of Greece, she was now living along the coast. This would be where she took some time for her own personal reflection. Debates on her past and visiting the overgrown areas of where her family lain slain by her own hands. Zeph wondered if they hated her in the afterlife or if they'd been reincarnated to try again with a better mother. These thoughts had her hauling up in her basements for days at a time, toying with withering to the point where she'd kill whomever she fed off of now. Her strength slipped and it took until the early 1600s for her to get her act together again and return back to the proud Spartan woman she is. Also the visit from her son who practically kicked her ass back into shape aided in her recalling why she kept living this damn long and not walking into the sun every morning.

1789 AC
It would be during this year that she finally left her familiar stomping grounds and traveled up to Europe and started to use her trade there. She still repaired anything with metal but stuck to weapons and became a rather respected weapons smith. Through the years, she had amounted a collection of many weapons and sought to learn how to use them but one thing she refused to learn how to use was a gun. It was a tool she disliked and found no honor in and anyone who brought her one would find that they were suddenly worse without any explanation. It was during this time where she had sired another vampire, with her age, you'd think she learned but the poor fool did not deserve to die. She would take care of them, well, at least helping them to the point of being able to survive on their own or with her but she did not wait around much for their indecisiveness.

1800-1900 AC
Off and on she would help her fledgling, it all depended on them but she did not require them to stick with her. She wanted to travel and learn this continent for all that it had and if they wanted her, they had to keep up. Though her pace was years at a time and not days. She enjoyed going from China to Russia, collecting weapons from there and learning how they used to fight with them. It took some hunting but even then she'd found old weapons masters to learn from across Europe. Her collection grew and she found that she should start to think about settling in an area so as to not be taking around this massive storage unite she had with her everywhere.

2011 AC
Time had changed vastly from when things were nothing but a scroll and a feather dipped in crude ink. Now there was technology and she had watched it bloom and grow. It was something she liked a bit because it made it easier to contact her son but she honestly wished he'd still send letters to her. Even if he did or didn't, she loved those tokens he sent to her. It was easier to travel around the world now, various ways allowing for to go around Europe before finally setting foot on American soil for the first time in her stupidly long life.

Zephy traveled around the US, enjoying the Southern states the most before trying her hand in a new state. Here in Colorado, where she'd heard the whispers of other supernatural, she decided to settle down and make roots for a time. There was no telling what she'd find here. She sent word to her son for if he wanted to join her here or if he'd rather stay away. Zeph even messaged her other fledgling to let them know if they wanted to stay with her for a time, a new place to explore and learn more about this place and those who lived here.
