Interpretation: Ziska always had a knack for languages, so when this cropped up during Latin when she was reading a phrase that she didn't understand at first but then in a rather head rush it hit her and she could. It only grew stronger the more she delved into each language and spent time with fellow linguists, the fact that she could remember things better than others was, from them, at first thought a gift. The drawback though of this gift of hers is that she is stuck speaking the last language she spoke from anywhere from a minute to thirty until she can revert back to English.
Summoning: This is new as of a few months ago. It first started as her wanting an item from a book store and then it appears in her hands well outside of the shop. To even a few items from private collections. This ability now is causing her to deal with some chaos as she has yet to learn to 'not want it' to the point of it popping up. After using it; especially if the item isn't exactly close, she started to experience vertigo. From just the mild dizziness to the nausea and fainting that can happen from its over extended use.

History
+ Born in Germany to Wolfgang and Colette Engel, she at first believed that things were normal. That it was normal for a father to mostly be gone and return at random.
+ Determined to not be a problem for her mother, no matter what was going on with her parents, she applied herself to everything from a young age. A part of her knew that there was problems, even as a child, she could feel then tensions between her parents so she thought that she could make up for it with excelling academically. From Kindie all the way to High School, she applied herself to be the top in her class and would achieve it. In a way, she hoped that her doing well would help her parents stay together.
+When her other siblings were born, Ziska helped with them as well. Learning how to care and play with her own siblings while her parents relationship continued on it's rocky path. Resentment grew inside her, Zis having taken her mothers side of things as it felt like her father was just abandoning them the moment he could.
+ Near the end of her high school years at around 17 was when her first ability popped its head up. She was already learning all the languages offered in school; English, German, Polish and then for an extracurricular, Latin. Latin class was where her ability cropped up and she started to realize that something was different about herself. Zis refused to tell her parents this, that something was different; including not telling her mother. She didn't need that extra strain in their family.
+ The moment she turned 18, Zis was off to college. She wanted space from her broken family. She wanted space from her overbaring father who was far too much for her to deal with. So, she decided to up and move to the US for her schooling. To her horror and shock, her father followed right behind with her siblings.
+ Ziska had to not contend with her helicopter father living in the same state as herself, even while she worked hard in college and got her masters in linguistics and bachelors in history; namely in books or scrolls of old or dead languages. No, she couldn't understand the dead languages like the one that still had life to them today but she could attempt normal aid in translations.
+ For school, she was thankfully able to travel a lot. Always returning to Colorado but she was traveling everywhere. To any museum, old library, private collectors, and meeting with curators. She would learn her craft more. Her grades and ambitious nature allow for her to build strong connections in the language world.
+ In more recent times, she works from her apartment, translating documents and carefully taking care of some old manuscripts and books; sometimes even old scrolls, to preserve them. She had a specialized workroom dedicated to all of this. While working one evening, she was frustrated, not having a book with her that she needed to cover a translation she didn't know. In a flash, from her friend's collection, the book would appear out of nowhere. It was so sudden and startling that she yelped and darted back until realizing it was a real book. The real book she had just looked over three days prior.
+ Now she is trying to be cautious, to not 'want' something so much that it appears- at least something she's come into contact with. It hasn't helped with her slight klepto side that she's been able to keep muffled most of the years. So now she fights with the urges to use her abilities willy-nilly instead of just for work.
