History
- Born in Laval, Quebec, outside Montreal on Friday, November 13th, 1953 to parents, Marie-Claude Gagnon and Charles Loren. Mother was Quebecois and father Australian.
- Family and the rest of the pack had to move around a lot during the first six years of Ed’s life. Lived in Morin-Heights, QC, a brief period of time in the Plateau Mile-End district of Montreal, Sutton, QC, Burlington, VT, Kingston, ON before finally moving back to Burlington, VT.
- Was homeschooled by his family and members of their pack. Would often sneak out and drop by the local schools to see other kids “his age” playing in the playground. Got caught a lot by his family and was forced to sever ties with anyone human for safety reasons.
- Father moved back to Australia after a disagreement with the pack. Not wanting to disrupt her child’s life further, MC opted to stay behind, too afraid to go it alone without the security of their queen.
- As a result, Ed was raised by his mother and members of their pack, and he stuck with them for decades until her death ten years ago. His father was killed by hunters in Australia when Ed was 6 (18), though this was a fact he didn’t learn until much later in life.
- As he grew up, he learned to keep his distance from humans as much as possible out of fear of infecting someone, often making excuses for why he couldn’t attend work-related gatherings.
- Worked odd jobs in Burlington, ranging from minor construction work, janitorial staff, on the assembly line, and, his favourite, a barista at a lovely little tea shop in the center of town. It was the one place where he got to flourish in the company of human beings, enjoying the regulars and vacationing public that often dropped by and offered their stories.
- After his mother died, he said farewell to his pack and went off in search of himself, briefly moving back to Laval to rediscover his roots.
- After shifting in public and risking being outed a year ago, he briefly moved back to Burlington to discover a younger and more ruthless king, who did not care for human life, had taken over their pack, causing many original members to flee. Uninterested in conflicts of any kind, Edward opted to leave the state behind him, landing in Colorado in August 2021.
- Now he’s searching for a place to settle down and live out the rest of his days painting in peace, however long that may be.
- It’s growing increasingly more difficult for him to shift in his old age but he still embraces his animal side. He’s never named his animal, often viewing the wolf and himself as the two sides of the same coin.
- Currently living at Hawknell Inn while he looks for something more permanent. Has found a home in Starling Hills.
