Technokinesis - Passwords, encryptions, and other types of security measures may as well not exist when he's around. As far as Kidd was concerned, he'd mastered this ability of his... though he's since realized there's more to it. He can get electronics at his fingertips to let him do what he wants with them for the most part, accessing and finding sensitive data like a bloodhound--his favorite--among other things. However, it come at a steep price. Within an hour or two extensive effort-driven use (especially on an unfamiliar machine), or any instance of contactless access, he is laid out with horrible migraines, absolutely crippling him. At that point he's incredibly sensitive to light and sounds, and often this will last several hours or into the next day, depending on how hard he pushed himself. Rest is vital, as there is no pushing through it.
Acoustics - Kidd can dampen sound entirely, and very efficiently. He's never consciously or purposefully made anything louder, but it has happened on accident before. When he dampens sound he gets darkening around the edges of his vision, and if he mutes it entirely he goes completely blind. On the rare occasion he does amplify a noise, it's as if someone threw a flashbang grenade into his face--still blinded, but more flashy.

History
Born in 1993 in Lansing, Michigan, with an older brother and eventually a younger sister.
Parents split when he was five, he and his siblings stayed with their mother.
Kidd was a sour student who hated to be in school and made a point to find ways to keep it interesting for himself. This usually meant trouble.
Eventually he got tired of his mom and her new husband getting on his case for this and at twelve years old he went to go live with his father in Miami, Florida.
Began to learn a lot while he was there--primarily why mom had left his dad. Turns out high end crime pays very well but isn't to everyone's tastes.
It was to his, though, and he fell quickly in love with a life of luxury.
Discovered in his freshman year of high school that it was... remarkably easy with even very little know-how to hack into the school computers and change his grades to make sure he graduated on little effort.
Didn't understand how this worked, but took advantage of it as often as he could--which was less often than he'd like, as any time he went about one of these escapades, he was debilitatingly unwell within hours. Was this his guilty conscience? Nah.
Carried on like this for some time, got involved in his father's "work" in a few instances but found he wasn't cut out for "art acquisition" in quite the way his old man was.
Convinced some prestigious university's computer that he had graduated--got his diploma in Cybersecurity without ever stepping foot into a single class. It's his favorite joke that he tells to no one.
Did admittedly pick some skills up along the way while using his gift because it started to make some sense to him and made his talent easier to harness.
Moved into his own place in his early 20's, but kept up with his father even while he started to make a reputation for himself independently. Let others find his targets and made his clients and himself plenty of money by taking what wasn't his.
Began to fear he'd need to give up the accumulation of wealth, however, when the 'chronic illness' that came with his gift seemed to be taking too much from him and his ability to enjoy what he had.
But then he found his own remedy a few years ago--the ability to stifle noise, and also effectively blind himself while he did so. Very nice for a brain plagued with horrific migraines.
More recently, things went awry for his father, and the elder Slater fled the states with as much of his fortune as he could before he was busted.
Kidd opted for a slightly different route, abandoning Miami so he didn't get caught up in all of that, but making his way to a solid up-and-coming city to dig out a little treasure hoard far away from any connection to this father.
Met Catriona, thought she was cute. Decided to get in on that, successfully did so.
Met Grace, who haphazardly informed him he was a psychic. He didn't care much for this news in a way.
Went to some 'psychic party' and discovered the girl he'd started seeing was also a psychic, so... him and Cat get into a competition to see who can improve their powers the fastest. (She wins).
He keeps dating her even though he didn't originally plan on that. There's a lot of (her) trauma involved. After a couple of years he thinks maybe he even loves her or something.
This does not stop him from dumping her when he decides it suits him. And because Grace won't entertain his flirting if he doesn't. Catriona is blindsided and furious, even if she doesn't even know the real bad bits of his reasons why.
After the breakup he goes to Dubai for a few months to reset.
Comes back, doesn't do much until a few months down the line when he finally hooks up with Grace. Turns out they have a similar power and it resonates weird--but in a good way.
Relationships
Grace Lee — She told him he was psychic and he rather resented her for that. But he also acknowledges that she knows what she's doing. And maybe he trusts her and her ability to speak her mind to him more than he does anyone else at this point. She's great at blackmail and he almost respects that. Also very confusing to flirt with, sometimes, but that is probably what makes it fun? Especially now that he's realized it annoys her less than he intended it to originally. Would take her to the Mediterranean if she asked.
Catriona Wood — Ex-Girlfriend. At first he just kinda thought it would be a fun fling and then he found out he was psychic, and that she was psychic... and life got kind of bewildering and next thing he knew he had the keys to her apartment and they'd been dating for more than two years. He was pretty sure he loved her. He's more certain she loved him. But he did a great job of breaking that up after abruptly deciding they weren't working out. And maybe he was really tired of peril drama.
