First Ability Intangibility
Second Ability Toxikinesis
Power/Animal Description With his intangibility, Wolf can make parts of his body (or his entire body) phase through solid objects. He can phase through walls, into cars, through floors, hide in an actual floor... If he wants to stay inside a solid object, he has a very strict time limit. He can only hold intangibility for up to ten minutes. Any longer and it will fail and his body will become tangible again, and he really doesn't want to find out what happens when it does while he's halfway through a wall. He can also touch people to make them phase through things for up to a minute at time. Muscle aches are the usual trade-off for simple use of his power, with extended use giving him cramps, usually leg or back, lasting minutes at a time. Extreme overuse results in stomach cramps, loss of appetite and fatigue, as well as weakness of the arms and legs, making movement difficult. He isn't fully aware of his toxikinesis, though he is aware that something has changed and has felt himself doing something without knowing what it is, which frightens him. When he becomes more aware of his new power, Wolf will be able to manipulate toxins, including introducing toxins to a victim (if he ever wanted to), or drawing them out of a victim, or rendering them inactive, or converting them to more potent forms. His side effects will be toxin-specific. Recently he's been feeling hungover even without excessive drinking...

Appearance

↭ Very tall, very willowy. Wolf sort of looks like you could grab him and tie him into a pretzel if you really wanted to. Drainpipe physique, sort of looks like the human embodiment of bamboo. Or a long novelty pencil with a sharp-faced eraser on the end. Being so tall, doesn’t really look like the sort to go sneaking around abandoned buildings, unless it’s part of his Bond villain schtick.

↭ Has actually been described as sharp faced. By his own mother, very often. An ex-girlfriend told him he looked like a bird of prey. He’s also heard the term ‘chiselled features’ which is a lot nicer than any of those descriptions, and he’ll take it. Capable of looking forlorn, wistful or stern and severe, but most of the time is just smiling. Not even in the usual ‘retail smile’ way!

↭ Has a pretty limited wardrobe. A couple of nice suits or more formal outfits for work, comfortable and protective clothing for his hobby. Dark colours dominate his wardrobe because wearing a magical girl outfit to an abandoned hospital during Halloween attracts attention. The video is on his second channel.

↭ Keeps himself well-groomed, hair short, nails trimmed. May or may not have a skincare regimen that he has no interest in making a video on.

Personality

⏭ Everything is exciting all of the time! Meeting someone new is a joy, having new work is wonderful, chores at Wolf’s house are like the Spoonful of Sugar scene in Mary Poppins. He very much lives his life by the line ‘In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun’ and makes it his duty to find that thread of joy. We’re here for a good time, not a long time, but we also kind of have to work to eat and have fun outside of work, so might as well make everything else in life as joyful as possible, right?

⏭ Wolf’s curiosity knows no bounds, sort of proven by his ‘urban exploration’ hobby. Any building in any state of ruin with tons of DO NOT ENTER signs around it is merely a challenge. It’s really an invitation to someone like Wolf. Even getting injured during an exploration didn’t dampen his love for it. Absolutely nothing can douse the flame of this man’s curiosity.

⏭ He’s always up for trying new things, sometimes to the horror of his kids, who start a new hobby only to be accosted by their Dad who wants to be involved and try it out alongside them. From skateboarding to the goth subculture to moshpits to windsurfing and so, so much more, Wolf has tried a lot of different things in life and is always ready to try something else. His adventurousness extends over into food and drink, as well as travels and Netflix recommendations.

⏭ Due to his curiosity and adventure, sometimes he’s seen as being irresponsible and flighty. He would disagree, especially given that preparing to explore an abandoned building takes a lot of responsible thinking. But others would argue that doing it at all isn’t responsible. He was even exploring while raising his kids by himself. Putting himself in danger while having responsibilities at home that he wasn’t tending to. Possibly why his eldest daughter resents him.

⏭ Can be kind of overbearing and something of a knowitall, especially where his kids are involved. Tends to think he knows what’s best for people, even when he doesn’t. Gets a little huffy when people go against his advice and can be smug when it turns out as he expected, and bitter when it doesn’t.

History

⇰ Born in Freising, Bavaria, West Germany to cardiologist Hans and housewife Lena. The middle child of seven, Wolfgang was in an awkward position where he was never quite little enough to baby and coddle, but not quite old enough for his parents to worry terribly about university prospects. Though he was rather close with his elder sister and younger brother (those born directly before and after him, a year apart each way) he often felt lonely. His sister spent much of her time with the eldest girl, his brother liked to play-fight and catch bugs with the twins (the youngest children), so it was up to young Wolfgang to find things to do on his own. Largely this consisted of rolling around in the grass by himself, making up fun scenarios he could act out by himself, and playing with the neighbourhood kids, sneaking away to create mischief.

⇰ Often getting into trouble at school for acting the clown and causing mayhem with his friends, it was a surprise to his parents that his grades were always decent. He didn’t really ever calm down, just turning his energy to other things. At one point, he and a friend got very interested in archaeology. Or more accurately, they were fascinated by digging and did a lot of that in people’s gardens, in the field near their school, in the flower beds at church. Needless to say they got into a lot of trouble through this hobby. One time, the boys uncovered a bomb, not realising what it was until an older neighbour caught them bashing it with their shovel and pulled them away from their discovery by the ears. Wolf is pretty sure the man gave him a scar on the side of his head with a long fingernail.

⇰ When Wolf was about eleven years old, his eldest sister discovered that she could move objects with her mind. When challenged to do so by her family, she was nervous and found herself incapable, and when no one was looking, things would break and they would assume she was throwing things and acting out. Their parents believed it was because she felt pressure to be the first of the children to go to university, and sought to punish her by taking away all her social opportunities, essentially grounding her and forcing her to study into her free time. Wolf believed her, however. He thought it was the coolest thing ever, and wanted her to teach him. He eventually got to see it in action, but no one believed them until she was finally able to control it enough to demonstrate in front of her parents. Hans made it clear that no one in the family could ever talk about this to anyone outside of the family, and forbade their daughter from using her power in public or in the home. Which left her very few places to use it. Wolf thought this was unfair, but believed he was protecting his sister by not talking about it.

⇰ When Wolf left school, he chose not to go to university despite pressure from his family. He took a job as a bank teller and considered learning a trade. Generally he continued goofing off with his old high school friends, and it was about a year or so after leaving school that he became interested in urban exploration when his friends decided to visit an abandoned school. They really only wanted to muck about, trash the place, steal any valuables, but Wolf decided he wanted to explore every single room, see if there was anything interesting to be found. It would take a few more successful visits to the abandoned school but it awoke his passion. Soon enough he was exploring other less visited places, sometimes on his own.

⇰ When he was 22, he was at work dealing with a stressful customer when he put his hand through his desk. Not in the typical way. More like his hand had slipped through the solid surface like it was nothing but an illusion. Somehow no one else had noticed, and he figured he must have just slipped somehow. He couldn’t have gone through the desk! It wasn’t until he visited his telekinetic sister that he discovered he was in fact psychic - because she could feel it radiating from him. It encouraged him to experiment with his power and figure it out more, learning to use it to his advantage while exploring, getting into places that would normally be strictly off-limits. And of course, getting out of sticky situations.

⇰ At the age of twenty six, during one visit to an abandoned mental hospital in the UK, he became agitated and startled by security and accidentally activated his power at the wrong moment, causing him to fall through the floor. He scraped his back on nails and splintered wood when he fell and hit his head on tile. He broke his right arm and bruised his spine. It was assumed that he somehow fell through a tiny hole in the floor that he would never have actually fit through, and he was treated in the UK until he was stable enough to return home.

⇰ During his recovery, he met and fell in love with a French physiotherapist by the name of Colette. Colette was not his physiotherapist, but he often saw her and shamelessly flirted with her at the hospital. She was charmed by his boldness, and they would end up meeting for lunch just off hospital grounds several times a week. Near the end of his recovery, they became somewhat official. Wolf went into carpentry and successfully completed an apprenticeship, but made it a part time career when Colette got her own physiotherapy clinic and needed a receptionist. Definitely not for the whole inversion of the typical therapist/receptionist thing, not at all. Not even a little bit.

⇰ Colette became pregnant unexpectedly in 1994. This would have been amazing news if their relationship wasn’t starting to come apart. Now that he was well enough, Wolf had started flitting off to take part in visits to more dangerous buildings, derelict places with crumbling floors and ceilings where he’d certainly die if he became trapped. Colette couldn’t understand why he was spending so much money on supplies to visit rundown old places with nothing interesting left in them that were basically giant death traps, one of which had very nearly killed him before they met, and Wolf couldn’t understand why she didn’t see the beauty and historical significance he recognised in these places or why she had to tear down his interests like that. By the time their first child was born, they were pretty close to a split, but they stayed together for their daughter, falling in love with her from the moment they laid eyes on her. Once more, they had something in common.

⇰ Their sort-of-truce didn’t last very long, and by the time baby number two was on the way, they were again close to a split. Wolf had stopped exploring for a few months, but was back into it once Colette was back at work full time, which didn’t make any sense to her. If anything, the kids were going to need him more now! Why was he disappearing on them? Or rather, on her. She would come home, the kids would be passed to her, and he would be away again. They were far too incompatible and Wolf far too irresponsible, and so they split not long after baby two and three arrived. Surprise twins!

⇰ With Colette practically alone in Germany, she had no one to really help her to raise the kids while she was at work. Wolf, on the other hand, still lived close to his parents and some of his siblings, who were happy to help him look after the kids when he was working. At first, both parents tried to be with the kids as much as possible, but over time, Colette faded out of the picture. She would see the kids every other weekend, and she would call, but her visits became somewhat less frequent, particularly after she started dating someone new. Wolf stopped exploring as much, throwing himself into fatherhood, trying to give his kids the best possible start in life that he could provide.

⇰ It turned him into kind of an overbearing parent, trying to fill the role of mother and father, trying to make up for the divide he had created, the broken family that was only his fault. He worked himself half to death for his family, always encouraging his little ones to chase their aspirations and do what made them happy. He’s been accused many times of trying to live vicariously through them, which may be somewhat true. In her teens, his eldest became somewhat cold towards him, and their relationship has always been a little rocky. So he found himself overcompensating, ever trying to be a cool dad, but also a dad who made sure his children were safe wherever they were.

⇰ When his eldest moved to Colorado for uni at 18, Wolf and the twins followed suit, which didn’t go down well with the eldest. Wolf was taking overbearing to a whole new level, uprooting the lives of the twins just to “keep an eye” on his older daughter. When she left to “escape” him, transferring to another state, he and the twins stayed put. When the twins went off to uni, Wolf found he had a lot of free time on his hands. He did try other hobbies. Pottery, embroidery. He even tried being a gym rat. After a while, he returned to his first love of urban exploration, travelling all over the US. At some point he started filming his expeditions, and not long after he started uploading them to YouTube. Over the years his style has changed from silent tours around abandoned places to something he believes is a little more educational, and though his channel isn’t exactly bursting with subscribers and ad revenue, he enjoys engaging with it and his audience. Otherwise, he’s settling (maybe permanently) in Ridgefield County as of September 2019 and working as a receptionist to pay the bills, doing a bit of carpentry on the side, and wondering what the hell is going on with his unidentified new power.

Other
I had a dream about a magical girl urbanex YouTuber so now he's your problem, Strangers.

⇗ Known as UrbanWolfEX on YouTube. Did a moderately successful face reveal video in January 2020 in which he showed his right eye and answered viewer questions while walking around the rail yard.

⇗ Isn’t actually aware of his toxikinesis yet, but he feels a change in his power that is somewhat troubling to him and he has used it unwittingly. Has reached out to his sister about her power and has been advised to experiment.

⇗ Has a moon tattoo on the small of his back and little stars of equal size dotted around it to represent his siblings and his children. It’s there to cover up scars he received when he fell while exploring after his power activated.

⇗ Has a pair of Lovebirds, Juniper and Cauliflower. Gives them time during the evenings to roam the house (after making sure the windows are closed and the curtains are shut). Loves them to bits!

⇗ Speaks German, French, English and a little Polish (though very poorly).
