    • Born in California to a well off family, tightknit and encouraging
    • Studied psychology but found she had more of an interest for the criminal side of it, and got on the PI track
    • There was no shortage of well paid following cases in their area, and she found she enjoyed the lower stakes of these
    • First serious case would be looking for her own brother, Walter, who hid in nearby woods after a 'cat' scratched him and he felt weird
    • Some research would lead to the were infection hypothesis, but the internet didn't specify a 15 year old wouldn't survive his first shift
    • Ignoring the danger to herself and willing to get turned if it were to happen, Hazel stayed with her brother during the next full moon
    • It turned into a nightmare as he didn't make it
    • She was never the same after this
    • Years later as she was visiting her long distance bestie in Argentina, she tried to shoo a "fox" away from the chicken coop, only to get bitten on the calf
    • Recognizing the symptoms from having seen them in her brother, she came home to weather the storm
    • After a period of adaptation, she found that the heightened senses were an asset
    • Got back to her life, but now Very Alert to any and all cat shifters
    • Increased hunger meant she had to branch out and take all cases thrown her way
