THE BIRDS AND THE BEES CONVERSATION!

Holly tipped her head back to laugh, caught off-guard by the idea of a grown wolf man giving a grown human woman a were sex talk. Christ!

So, Bree was clearly human. Which was fine! Holly hadn't exactly chosen to be a wolf, at least not consciously, but she knew the risks. Well, not all of them, it turned out. It felt important that Bree knew them too and it was good of Newton to mention it. But god! What a decision to have to make! And to be with Waylin! No offence, Waylin. Hopefully, it wasn't just about Waylin though! For both their sakes.

"I can't believe you gave your roommate a were sex talk." Holly chuckled and joined him in shaking her head.

"We didn't go into detail. I just wanted to make sure she knew." He laughed, honestly fucking glad she knew her shit already. "Had to make sure she knew to write her name on her food, too." God, how fucking awkward. Like, just taking a drink from the wrong container after a long work shift. Ugh.

Oh, that was really smart. Holly had mostly lived alone before Newt moved in temporarily since becoming a wolf. Her dad had only been a psychic for a few days before he was turned while living with her, so. She just hadn't thought of it. God. She was obviously careful at work but yeah. Home was different. Good thing he brought it up.

"No, it's good of you to bring it up," She reassured with a smile. If Bree knew about Newton, she likely knew about Holly already, too.

"God. Waylin though, huh? Guess he's going to be coming over sometimes then." How did Newt feel about it?

"I guess. She's gonna give him a key, too, with my blessing," he rolled his eyes. "But she seems to know we have weird blood between us. Said she'd kick his ass in gear about the lunch he promised me." At least it wouldn't be that awkward. "She's pretty chill. I think you'll like her."
#55
Holly caught the eye roll, and listened as he continued. Bree seemed to have a good head on her shoulders, which was obviously difficult to fully gauge before meeting a person but she believed Newton.

"I'm excited to meet her," She replied with a smile, glad to see he wasn't too affected by the increase of Waylin in his life. Maybe they'd put it all behind them over that lunch.

Newt popped a big chunk of muffin in his mouth. He did hope Holly and Bree got along. She had a key, so the intent was she could come and go as she pleased. It did suck not having an apartment that he felt like he could just leave the door unlocked for emergencies anymore, but the matebond thing would probably alert him well enough in advance. But also, hopefully there would be no more emergencies to worry about. Ever. Ever again!

"I'll talk to her, we can set something up. She's writing a book about supernatural shit. Like, doing interviews and shit. If you'd want to anonymously be in a book. It's not a requirement for coming over, but she might mention it anyway."
#57
Holly picked at the bottom of her muffin first, leaving the best part of the muffin for last. Newt told her a little more about Bree and it was unexpected! Then again, anything was sort of unexpected but a book where she interviewed people about 'supernatural shit' wasn't high on Holly's list of possible guesses. Huh!

"Good to know, thanks," She chewed and wrapped her head around it. She didn't think she wanted to be in a book. Even anonymously. What would she even say that probably hadn't been said already?

"Are you going to do an interview?" Holly asked, one eyebrow raised.
#58
"Nah. I don't even know what I'd say." He shrugged. "Plus, we're roommates. If she publishes her book and it says some weird shit, it'll make it awkward." A little laugh added in. But uncertainly. He didn't really know her. So, maybe she would become decidedly unchill with her book.
#59
Holly smiled in understanding. It was probably safer not to be interviewed by your roommate. Didn't blur any weird lines or cross any boundaries.

"Makes sense." She nodded. There were things Holly wished Newton would talk to someone about but they weren't really supernatural-related. Except for Patrick. They hadn't really spoken about him since that morning and Holly dreaded the day his name ever came up in conversation again. But there were also clearly things for Newton to unpack that weren't being unpacked. Holly bit into her muffin to keep her face from frowning as she dipped back into some sadness that didn't make sense with the conversation they were having.

Maybe today wasn't the day to bring shit up, which felt like a cop-out. But.

"Yeah. Let's set something up soon," She brought it back with a smile after she finished chewing. A private dip in her emotions that likely wasn't all that private.

A blip in a lake that cast ripples in a small radius. He caught it, but it was almost fainter than faint. Newt didn't really get where it came from so he wasn't sure how to address it. He left it alone.

"Do you wanna look around more?" Newt crumpled up his croissant paper.
#61
Holly figured she could pick at her muffin as they walked, so she crinkled what paper was left over and nodded. Walking around would do them all some good, wolves included.

"Yeah, let's look around." She smiled softly, eager to forget a few things for a fun morning out. Holly stood up and tossed her garbage out before extending her arm to wrap behind his back whenever he joined her.

He tucked the wolf charm in his pocket, finished off his muffin, and grabbed his latte. Trash also tossed, he leaned into her offered arm and draped his over her shoulders.

"I think I need a candle or something. That's what new apartments need. Or some art. Right?" Newt sipped his coffee as they strolled.

Holly chuckled. "Both are good options," She replied and gave his side the gentlest of squeezes.

"Let's find the perfect something for your new home." Holly leaned up to press a kiss on the side of his face.
