The Seanchaí Collection (clutch only) Useful

An interesting portrait hung on the side wall of Catrina's office. Elena's eyes drifted toward it as she waited for the Domina to arrive. Seated and legs crossed comfortably, she drew her eyes away again and fell into a brief meditation.

The reason for her request to meet had already been explained before they set the time, a position within the clutch—an offer of her services to benefit the slowly growing group of young and old vampires alike. Elena had been in Ridgefield long enough to realize that this clutch might be her home for several years and she wanted to do her part to foster a good environment.

She wished to be useful.

What an exciting meet to plan for. The presence of Elena drew her to her office as quick as could be helped, there was still a business to run after all. But, she wouldn’t have her wait too long before making her way inside towards where the vampire in question sat.

”Good evening, it’s wonderful to see you.”

The door was clicked shut before she made her way over to the chair across from Elena.

Her chin rose to turn toward the door and follow Catrina as she entered the cozy quarters. Elena let herself relax back into the chair.

"Evening Domina. Thank you for meeting with me so soon." Their short exchange had rapidly turned into a face-to-face meeting with little complication. Elena saw it as a good sign of Catrina's approval.

”Of course, I would hate to make either of us wait on such an important conversation.”

She settled in, all attention to the woman in front of her. Elina had been a member for quite some time, a steady hand and a presence that was not second guessed. That they sat here with a question hanging in the air was something that was a very welcome one to have.

”You wished to speak about a role,” Catrina prodded with a smile.

Elena smiled at their mutual decision not to mince words. She answered with confidence.

"Yes." Elena began, her voice steady. "I've been observing our younger members, and I've taken the time to guide them when appropriate."

"I think my experience could be useful and therefore want to formally request a mentor role within the clutch." Elena's gaze focused on Catrina, her expression earnest. "I understand the responsibility this entails and am committed to contributing."
#6
Elena was ready, every word carefully laid out and confident. She’d assessed and guided others without Catrina pushing, initiative a wonderful trait to see. It was only natural that it bottled up into a mentor role being requested, one that seemed to fall upon her shoulders quite naturally.

”I have no doubt you do,” Catrina agreed, reassuring. ”And the position for you has certainly come to mind for me as well.” Though so had some others, but it was always interesting to see what path another would choose before she ever suggested one.

She leaned forward. ”Out of curiosity’s sake, would you mind telling me more about these times you guided others in the clutch?”

The rule of three was truly her friend here. Elena held up the same number of fingers and delicately tapped each as the memory arose.

One. "There was Dani who I helped coach through a feeding. She did wonderfully well in such a crowded venue."

Two. "Also Tatiana, who struggled with her owl form. I took her out and gave a few flying lessons. She's far more confident now."

Three. "Recently, I spoke with Ender and we had a productive conversation about his power and finding new passions now that he had so much time to spend on discovering himself. He did promise to teach me more about painting." Elena smiled, remembering that she must reach out soon.

All fingers curled down and she lowered her hand. There was also Simon but her help had more to do with finding a new pet than being a thriving vampire. Still, there was so much more to do and Elena was looking forward to working with the others.

Elena was very prepared, an entire count off of occasions were soon disclosed in proof of qualifications. A successful mentoring with feeding, something that could be very complicated and in need of a due amount of patience to set a vampire up for life. Flying lessons was a very adorable concept and entirely needed, something that Catrina could not help with at all as bound to paws as she was and it was in all their best interests for one to get the hang of their abilities. And then, last but not least, a conversation of guidance, mentoring through words and ideas that was a wonderful skill to have on top of everything else as it set the mind at ease and into doing.

”You have been very busy.”

A grin had grown throughout the retelling, finding absolutely no fault in any of it and truly wishing to see more actions within the clutch along the same line. Elena was a seasoned vampire who’s mentor abilities could only further help all members. It would be wonderful to see her do so in an official capacity and what projects she may just take on herself.

”The various opportunities for you to lend a hand are wonderful to hear about. I would be remiss to not bestow you the mentor role as you’ve requested. You may count yourself as officially a mentor of Rhiannon Court.”

What she expected to feel like a manageable weight settling on her shoulders, instead felt like a platform had been raised under her feet and she was seeing the world from a different, more elevated view.

"Wonderful." Elena said, her composure breaking into clear delight. "I am quite excited about this role."

The response from Elena had Catrina beaming, happy to see the dear’s radiance, the fabric of the clutch pulling and growing positively. ”I am thrilled you have taken it on.” And of course, there was much to be done!

”What ever shall you plan first, dear Mentor? I am very curious about your plans.”
#11
Her mood was too good to play it coy, Elena leaned forward slightly, the spark of excitement still present in her eyes.

"I have a few ideas churning," she began, her voice warm. " However, is there anyone you might suggest I approach?"
#12
Multiple ideas already and she entirely looked forward to the ripples they would cause, the stories to hear.

”Perhaps, Luka and Matilda if you have some time. Luka has grown very nicely and has recently gained a cat form. His second power may soon be on the way as well. And Matilda has much going on, but is still finding herself in some ways. I imagine she could learn from another perspective besides mine.”
#13
"They will go to the top of my list, along with introducing myself to all our members." Elena nodded, already making plans. Luka had slipped her attention and she was to rectify that immediately by making his acquaintance.

To Catrina, she smiled. "I'll inform you of my progress."

Good, it seemed Elena had her hands full already.

”Wonderful. I surely look forward to hearing all about it. Congratulations, again.”
